Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore is the leader of the headless hunt and he won't let Nearly headless Nick join because his head is still hanging off by half an inch of flesh. Sir Nicholas De Mimsy-Porpington is Nearly Headless Nick's real name and is a wrong answer. When Nick sends Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore a letter, he calls him Sir Properly Decapitated-Podmore.

The Masons will be here soon!' snapped Aunt Petunia, pointing to two slices of bread and a lump of cheese on the kitchen table."

When Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys are buying their school books in Flourish and Blotts, they meet Lucius and Draco Malfoy. Lucius insults the Weasley family by saying, "and I thought your family could sink no lower". Mr Weasley gets angry and throws himself at Lucius, knocking him into a bookshelf.

When Hagrid comes and pulls them apart, Mr Weasley has a cut lip and Lucius has been hit in the eye by an Encyclopedia of Toadstools.

The Weasleys and Harry reach King's Cross station at quarter to eleven to get the train to Hogwarts from platform nine and three quarters. When they reach the barrier between platforms nine and ten, they only have five minutes to go through the barrier. Mrs Weasley ,after looking at the clock overhead says "Percy first". "Percy strode briskly forward and vanished. Mr Weasley went next, Fred and George followed". Mrs Weasley then tells Harry and Ron that she will take Ginny next and then they can go through.

When Harry and Ron can't get through the barrier to get to the Hogwarts Express, Ron decides to get to the school by using his dad's flying car. When Harry and Ron get to Hogwarts, Professor Snape sees them and takes them to his office. Professor Snape shows Harry and Ron a newspaper article from the Evening Prophet with the headline: FLYING FORD ANGLIA MUGGLES and he reads it to them.

In the article it says "Two Muggles in London, convinced they saw an old car flying over the Post Office tower ... at noon in Norfolk, Mrs Hetty Bayliss, while hanging out her washing".

During the Duelling Club that Gilderoy Lockhart had set up, Harry is chosen to duel with Draco and do a demonstration about how to block unfriendly spells. During the demonstration, Draco casts a spell at Harry, Serpensortia. A long black snake shoots out of the end of his wand. Professor Snape is about to get rid of it when Gilderoy Lockhart says "Allow me!" He points his wand at the snake and instead of it disappearing it flies 10 feet into the air.

The last part of making the Polyjuice potion is adding a bit of the person you are turning into, into the potion. Hermione adds hers first to the potion and it turns a sickly yellow colour. When Harry adds Gregory Goyle's bristles to his potion it turns a khaki colour. When Ron adds Vincent Crabbes hair into the polyjuice potion it hisses and froths then turns a dark murky brown colour.

When Harry is in Filch's office, after Filch has gone out of the room, Harry sees a purple envolope on his desk with silver writing saying "KWIKSPELL A Correspondence Course in Beginners' Magic". Harry opens the envelope and reads about the Kwikspell course. It says in the letter that D.J Prod is from Didsbury.

Gilderoy Lockhart wears a lot of different coloured robes in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". Harry and Ron, after arriving by the flying car are looking through the window at the Sorting Ceremony. Harry is looking across the teachers' table and sees Gilderoy Lockhart dressed in robes of aquamarine.
He wears Forget Me Not blue at the book signing in Flourish and Blotts and he wears pink robes on Valentine's day.
