Answer: Kansas

The setting for both the book and the movie is Kansas, a state where they (unfortunately) get many tornadoes. It is one of many midwestern states in what is known as "Tornado Alley".
2. When Dorothy's house touched down in the Munchkin city, whom did her house fall on?

Answer: The Witch of the East

The Wicked Witch of the East had kept the munchkins as her slaves so they were glad to be rid of her!
3. What color shoes did Dorothy change into, after realizing that hers would not be up to the journey to Oz?

Answer: Silver

In the book, the witch's shoes were silver. When the movie was made, the shoes were changed to ruby slippers (probably to show up better in Technicolor!)

In the south of Oz, which is ruled by the Good Witch of the South, live the Quadlings.
