Common Bond-A Tribute to Professorjon Quiz

This Quiz is dedicated to Professorjon, the creator, in my opinion, of the common bond category. Unfortunately, it is not done with as much flare as his quizzes are, but hey, it's my first attempt. Enjoy!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In general, a golfer can hit a golf ball the farthest with what club?

Answer: Driver

Annika Sorenstam, of the LPGA, averaged just over 265yds per drive. Which is pretty good considering that her average drive is farther than PGA golfers Corey Pavin, a former US Open winner, and John Cook, with average drives of 258 and 264 respectively...Golf is a great game to play, and fortunately for the grass, Professorjon does not play.
2. Decoy servers that are set up to gather information about an intruder into your computer system are called __________ systems?

Answer: Honeypot

You hackers out there better watch your butt, because someone may be watching yours...Professorjon must have hackers attacking his computer system, because his internet connection always seems to go down.
3. As one of Indiana's most well known female writers, Gene Stratton-Porter, a environmentalist/naturalist, is responsible for which of these works?

Answer: The Harvester

"The Harvester" was published in 1909. Along with being an environmentalist/naturalist and writer, Gene Stratton-Porter was also a photographer of birds and animals of the Limberlost Swamp. Professorjon is into literature, but I don't know if he will get this one.
4. Which Dennis had a stint as the President of the Screen Actors Guild?

Answer: Weaver

He was President of the Screen Actors Guild from 1973 to 1975. While in that role, he received "The Ralph Morgan Award" for outstanding service to his fellow members. If Professorjon doesn't get this one...
5. What school did Bob Knight, the current basketball coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, coach basketball for from 1963-1971?

Answer: Army

He was the assistant head coach of Army from 1963-1965. He then became the head coach in 1965 as the youngest coach in major college history, until 1971 when he became the head coach of Indiana University. No comment about Professorjon on this question, although, I don't think he likes Bobby Knight.
6. In the movie "The Fifth Element", Korben Dallas is charged with gathering the four elements of life plus a "Fifth Element" to save the Universe from Evil. The five elements are Water, Wind, Earth, __________, and a perfect, or supreme being. Fill in the blank.

Answer: Fire

If you haven't seen this movie, the four elements of life are surrounded by a fifth (the supreme being) to form a weapon that repels ultimate evil. But if ultimate evil is put in place of the supreme being, light turns to dark, life turns to death. To me, some of Professorjon's quizzes are Ultimate Evil.
7. Which group/artist recorded the song "Bohemian Rhapsody"?

Answer: Queen

The song was used in a great scene in the movie "Wayne's World". Put a black wig on Professorjon and he would look like Wayne.
8. What is a body of people sent out by a state to a new territory?

Answer: Colony

Nudists are sometimes found in them. Maybe you will find Professorjon at one (now that could be a horrible sight, no offense).
9. What is the last name of the actress who plays the role of Cordelia Chase on the TV show "Angel"?

Answer: Carpenter

Occassionally, she also plays the same role on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". Her first big break was on Baywatch. Go figure, she is an extremely beautiful woman. This is not a show that Professorjon watches.
10. The clues should be laid out before you to lead you to one conclusion. What is the common bond?

Answer: Ants

All of these answers are types of ants or something related to ants. 1. Driver Ants-are army ants that are found in Africa, 2. Honeypot Ants-ants that serve as living food containers, 3. Harvester Ants-ants that feed on seeds, 4. Weaver Ants-ants that live in trees found in Asia, Africa, and Australia, 5. Army Ants-nomadic hunting ants that are found in Central and South America , 6. Fire Ants-brought to Alabama from Southern Brazil, 7. Queen Ant, 8. Ants live in colonies, 9. Carpenter Ants. And by the way, if you weren't aware, Professorjon likes ants (I am not sure about the chocolate covered ones).
