Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the first person to be shown wearing a milk mustache in the American Dairy Association "Got Milk" campaign?

Answer: Billy Ray Cyrus

When the ADA was looking to launch the campaign in 1992, it wanted a "hot" commodity to start it. Subsequently,he was selected due to the immense popularity of his "Ackey Breaky Heart" single. Unfortunately, Billy has never reached that peak of popularity since.
2. With what product did Milton Hershey make his first $1 million?

Answer: caramel

Milton sold his caramel factory for $1 million. He then dedicated his efforts into creating the "perfect" chocolate bar, eventually building his factory in Hershey, Pa.
3. What did Alfred Hitchcock use to simulate the blood in the movie "Psycho"?

Answer: chocolate syrup

It was Hershey's Chocolate Syrup to be exact. It was used because it filmed best in black and white. I found this out in Universal Studios, Florida.
4. Prior to the year 2000, what was the last year you could write using only two (2) Roman Numerals?

Answer: 1500

M = 1000, D = 500; therefore MD would equal 1500. I bet when you see an M.D. on a doctor's diploma, you won't read it the same way again.
5. Who was the highest paid entertainer during the decades of the 1960s and 1970s?

Answer: Liberace

Found this out on the PC version of "Jeopardy"!
6. What does the eagle on the back of the US dollar hold in its talons?

Answer: An olive branch and 13 arrows

The arrows symbolize war and the olive branch peace.

In the early 1800s, this led to some diplomatic controversy. In the language of this sort of symbol the right side means dominance. In the years 1801 - 1807, the arrows were in the right talon, and this was taken as a sign of belligerence by some. So, in 1807, the olive branch was moved to the right talon.
7. What country was the first to give its women the universal right to vote?

Answer: New Zealand

In 1893--27 years before the U.S.!
8. Who was the first real life person to be likened on a Pez dispenser?

Answer: Betsy Ross

This was done to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States. However, it is usually against Pez policy to use the likenesses of real people due to the difficulty in recreating a person's image.
9. What was the better known name of the television character called Roy Hinkley?

Answer: The professor

From "Gilligan's Island", of course. His true name is mentioned in the series premiere.
10. During how many calendar YEARS can a person serve as President of the United States?

Answer: 10

You would think it is eight; however, there are two ways in which to become president. First, of course, is to be elected. The second is to succeed a person serving who dies or is otherwise incapacitated. According to the constitutional amendment limiting presidential terms, if the term of the preceding president has MORE than two years remaining, then his successor can only run for re-election once.

But if there is two years or LESS remaining in the term, then his successor can run an additional two times for re-election, making a TOTAL of ten years in office.
