2. "The Silence of the Lambs" was a very brilliant 1991 film starring Jodie Foster and who else?

Answer: Anthony Hopkins

The 1991 film, "The Silence of the Lambs" was a thriller, perhaps even horror, film starring Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Starling is an FBI trainee profiler who is asked to interview an incarcerated serial killer, Lecter, in the hopes of catching a current serial killer known only as 'Buffalo Bill'. Starling and Lecter dance an interesting game of memories and clues and Starling exposes that she is trying to solve the murders in order to silence a childhood nightmarish memory where lambs on a relative's farm were being slaughtered.

The movie was a huge success. At the Academy Awards, "The Silence of the Lambs" took four of the most prestigious awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress. In fact, in an oversight hearing at the US Congress in 1993, Lamb Chop provided her own testimony.

Prior to her death in 1998, Lewis sold the rights to the puppet to DreamWorks. Nevertheless, her daughter, Mallory Lewis, was able to retain the live-acting rights to Lamb Chop and continued to make appearances.
4. The majestic altarpiece also known as "Adoration of the Mystic Lamb" was attributed to which Belgian artist?

Answer: Jan van Eyck

The large altarpiece known as "Adoration of the Mystic Lamb" or "The Ghent Altarpiece" is a 15th century set of panels in St Bavo's Cathedral, Ghent, Belgium. It was completed by the brothers Hubert and Jan van Eyck, though Hubert passed away at least six years before it was completed. The lower central panel depicts a procession of people in adoration of the Lamb of God. All are being protected by a dove which represents the Holy Spirit.

The panels were commissioned by the mayor of Ghent, Jodocus Vijd and his wife, Lysbette Borluut. Their portraits can also be found on panels along with John the Baptist, John the Evangelist, Adam and Eve, Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Several of the panels have been stolen several times over the years, including twice by the Germans in each of the World Wars. One panel was never recovered, but was recreated in 1945 to complete the original creation.

8. The lambada is a Latin partner dance. What country did it originate in?

Lambada is a Latin dance that became very popular in the 1980s as a very sexy and naughty partner dance from Pará, Brazil. It was influenced heavily by the carimbó, but also has roots in merengue, forró, and maxixe. It was known as the "forbidden dance" because of its sensual nature. It is danced in a one-two-three beat in partners.

At a time where there was a new dance craze yearly, lambada might have been forgotten had not two French businessmen, seeing an opportunity, bought the rights to some lambada music and brought the dance back to Europe. They founded the group Kaoma whose 1989 song, "Lambada", became an overnight hit. Nevertheless, by 1994, very little lambada music was being produced though the dance lives on being danced to other music, zouk, for example.
9. The Paschal Lamb is associated with which Jewish holiday?

Answer: Passover

The Paschal Lamb is the ritual sacrifice to commemorate the lamb sacrificed in ancient Egypt when the Jews were freed from the yoke of the Pharaoh. This is remembered in the Jewish holiday of Pesach, or Passover. Tradition has it that the Jews, knowing that the tenth and worst plague was coming, the killing of the firstborns, sacrificed a lamb and marked their doorways with the blood. The spirit of God passed over these marked houses thus sparing the lives of the firstborn Jews and only killing the firstborn Egyptians and the firstborn of their livestock.

While once widely practiced in ancient times, nowadays the custom of the Paschal Lamb is rare.

Answer: Canada

Lamb Air was an airline from 1934 to 1981 by Tom Lamb which was operated out of The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. It serviced very few locations within Canada, the United States and Greenland. Its first aircraft was a Stinson SR8 and the airline was founded in order to move goods to northern Canadian locations. When fish were usually sledded into larger commercial centers, Lamb Air was an alternative to get them father and faster. It also moved people around in the cold northern climate of Canada when other airlines would not. The airline steadily grew and added more aircraft and some helicopters to its fleet. It was known for flying for medical evacuations as well as mercy relief for northern settlements.

When Tom Lamb passed away in 1969, his six sons, all of them pilots, continued with the airline. They coined the company's motto: "Don't ask us where we fly, tell us where you want to go".
