Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At Kings Cross we board the train that is going south on the Piccadilly Line. We need to get off at the third stop. Where are we? (It is the stop before Leicester Square.)

Answer: Covent Garden

Covent Garden is full of excellent restaurants and shops. The shopping opportunities range from designers like Paul Smith to craftwork shops in the Market Place. This is always a bustling place full of tourists, who often stop to watch the street performers. The London Transport Museum can also be found here.
2. Now, we take a walk from Kings Cross to Euston Station, where we take the Northern Line Bank one stop north. Where are we?

Answer: Mornington Crescent

Mornington Crescent tube station has a game named after it. The game was created by Geoffrey Perkins and involves players announcing the names of London tube stations, the winner being the one who announced Mornington Crescent!
3. For this journey, we need to board one of two trains at Kings Cross, either the westbound Hammersmith and City or the westbound Circle Line. We need to get off at the fourth stop on Hammersmith or the fifth stop on Circle. Where are we now? (Think of a bear.)

Answer: Paddington

Paddington is also a mainline station. Michael Bond made this station famous by creating a bear that was found there by a family named Brown. 'Paddington Bear' can now be found in a glass case in the 'Lost Luggage' department of the main line station. He comes out often to have his photo taken with his fans (including me!).
4. This journey takes us north on the Piccadilly Line, our destination is three stops away from Kings Cross. Where is it? (Think North-London football team)

Answer: Arsenal

Arsenal Football Club played at Highbury until the end of the 2006 season. Highbury is a listed building in the middle of a residential area. One of their club shops could be found not too far away at Finsbury Park, which is the next stop on the Piccadilly Line.
5. We take the Circle Line to Tower Hill, where we change to the Docklands Light Railway. We travel through the Isle of Dogs and will go south under the Thames. We get off at the first stop after Island Gardens. Where are we?

Answer: Cutty Sark

The Cutty Sark station gives easy access to Maritime Greenwich. Here you can visit the actual Cutty Sark and its small counterpart the Gypsy Moth. In addition, Greenwich is home to the Royal Observatory and the Maritime Museum.
6. For this trip, we need to take a southbound train on the Piccadilly Line to Leicester Square, where we then need to change to the southbound Northern Line. We need to get off at the third stop, where are we now? (Think battles and ABBA.)

Answer: Waterloo

Waterloo is also a mainline station that serves the south of England. This is the best station for visiting the London Eye, the world's biggest observation wheel. The London Eye never stops turning unless an elderly or disabled person is boarding or alighting. The views from the top of the Eye are amazing.
7. We take the Piccadilly Line south to Gloucester Road, here we need to change to the southbound District Line. We get off our train at its final destination, where is this? (Think strawberries and cream.)

Answer: Wimbledon

Wimbledon is mainly famous for two things. The first is the Tennis Open that is played there for two weeks every July, which is usually wettest fortnight of the year! The other thing is 'The Wombles', these are small creatures from a children's TV series, who keep Wimbledon Common clean.
8. Our journey from Kings Cross takes us west on either the Circle Line or the Hammersmith and City Line. We need to get off at the third station. Where are we?

Answer: Baker Street

Baker Street station is, not too surprisingly, on Baker Street. Baker Street is where the mythical 'Sherlock Holmes' lived. This station is convenient for getting to 'Madame Tussauds' and 'The Planetarium', both of which are well worth a visit.
9. We are boarding the train on the southbound Piccadilly Line and go as far south as it will allow, before we start to come back on ourselves. Where are we now?

Answer: Heathrow Terminal 4

Heathrow airport is so big that it has two tube stations. The first that you pass is for Terminal 4, the next one is after the train has turned round to make its return journey, and this station serves the other three terminals.
10. This time we will be travelling in a roundabout way to our destination. First, take the Circle Line to Baker Street, then hop on the southbound train on the Bakerloo Line to Piccadilly Circus, then finally change to the southbound Piccadilly Line and get off at the stop after Hyde Park Corner. What is our final destination?

Answer: Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge is most famous for its shopping area. The most famous store in the world is here - Harrods. Harrods has a reputation that it can supply you any commodity that you want or need, even the most obscure things like, an elephant for example!

I hope that you enjoyed my mystery tour of London, please ride again!
