Answer: Lviv

With a population of 728,000 in 2017, Lviv was the seventh-largest city in Ukraine. At various times from 1272 to 1918 Lviv was the capital of several entities, including the Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia, the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria and the West Ukrainian People's Republic. Within the Old City of Lviv there are more than 2,000 historic landmarks.

When Team Red wasn't exploring Lviv's historic landmarks we spent some time in the city's knaipas, eclectic pubs that serve food and drink and provide entertainment.

The site that GUM occupies was first developed as a trading center under the rule of Catherine II but that building was destroyed in a fire in 1812. The next building erected had three levels of shops and was known as Upper Trading Rows until the 1920s after which it obtained the name GUM. From the 1920s to 1953 GUM was a Soviet State Department Store after which it was privatized.

In addition to GUM, Team Red spent several hours exploring other iconic sites in Moscow's Red Square like St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum and the State Historical Museum.

At its topping off in 2018 the Lakhta Center became the tallest building in Europe by nearly 300 feet. The next four tallest buildings in Europe in 2018 were located in Moscow. The Lakhta Center was a massive project designed for public use and office space. Saint Petersburg is the largest city on the Baltic Sea and previously it was known as Petrograd and Leningrad.

The Åland Islands are located off the southwest coast of Finland in the Gulf of Bothnia. The archipelago is unique in that the region is autonomous, monolingual Swedish and demilitarized. The Åland Maritime Museum is built to look like a ship's prow cutting into the land.

Its most famous exhibit, Pommern, was donated to the islands as a museum ship in 1957 after it retired from transporting grain from Australia to England. Feeling quite seasick Team Red decides to go to the Swedish mainland next.

Kronborg is strategically located at the northeastern portion of the island of Zealand just four km (2.5 mi) from Sweden across the Øresund strait. Built in the 1420s, Kronborg was used as a royal residence as well as a stronghold against enemy invaders.

In 1923 the castle was remodeled to allow public visitors after which it became a popular tourist site. Upon leaving Denmark Team Red is anxious to get back to Great Britain where our journey had begun.

The Angel of the North is made of steel and it was completed in 1998. The angel's wings are slightly tilted inward to give the viewer a sense of embrace. The Angel of the North was built to withstand winds up to 100 mph and it is located on a hill overlooking the A1 and A167 roadways. Feeling serene Team Red packs our things and heads back to Scotland.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe first took place in 1947 and in 2018 it was the largest arts festival in the world. The various performances are open access and include comedy acts, musicals, circus and opera. Team Red sought to perform a trivia act but decided against it thereby ending our 100 stop tour.
