Answer: Zamosc

The city is full of beautiful Renaissance buildings, with a town hall dominating a football-pitch sized central square. The town was set to resemble a human being, with different parts of the city symbolizing different parts of the body. Trivia fact - the mayor of Zamosc, Marcin Zamoyski, is a descendant of the founder Jan Zamojski

Answer: Kosice

Kosice is suffered a stagnant phase during the Ottoman Empire invasions. The city regained its importance after the II World War, when it developed into a major industrial area of eastern Czechoslovakia. Now it is the gateway from Slovakia to the eastern Hungary.

Answer: Karlovy Vary

This city, is also known as Karlsbad, after the emperor Karl IV who supposedly visited the springs. The temperature of springs can reach as high as 73 centigrade. It is also known for the movie festival which takes place each year, showing some of the best movies from Eastern Europe.

Answer: Maramures

The cemetery is located in a village Sapanta. Tombstones are covered with merry colorful folk paintings of deceased's life and poetry commemorating his life. This tradition was started in 1935. Now the cemetery is also a local tourist attraction along with local wooden churches scattered around Maramures area.

Answer: Kaliakra

A fortress is situated on a 70 meter cliff, from which, if you are lucky you can observe dolphins (unfortunately I was not lucky). View from the top is really breathtaking.

Riga is inhabited by almost equal numbers of Latvians and Russians. It has always had a multicultural character, hosting notable minorities of Germans, Russians, Jews and Poles all through its history.

There are plans of connecting Saaremaa with mainland by a bridge or a tunnel.

It is a majestic peak, whose name comes from resemblance of three heads. It rises up to 2,864 m.

The Bukk Mountains look most beautiful in the autumn, when all the leaves of beech, from which the mountains gained the name, turn red. Miskolc has also many other cave systems surrounding it.

Most big concerts in my country take place there. It was completed in 1971. The Polish name, Spodek, means saucer when translated to English.

Answer: Brasov

The Black Church or Black Churce was so called because of fire that blackened the walls in 1689. Brasov is a perfect base to sightsee and trek through Transylvania as it is located in close to the mountains, the so-called Dracula castles and the former royal residence in Sinaia.
14. What is the only primaeval forest in the European Union territory?

Answer: Bialowieza Forest

Among other unique species of plants and animals you can find wild European bison (wisents) there. Wisents are the biggest wild land animals in Europe. They have been reintroduced from twelve remaining wisents living in zoos. Now herds of them can be found in forest reserves.
15. In which Croatian city was the European Athletic Championship held in 1990?

Answer: Split

Tricky one, as Split is known more for its beautiful coastal setting and the old buildings dating back to Roman times, than for athletics. It also has the well known soccer team of Haiduk. Hope you enjoyed the quiz.
