The Weimar Republic lasted from 1918 to 1933. This name ('Weimar Republic') was a nickname and seems to have first come into use when it no longer existed. The official name was 'Deutsches Reich'.

Answer: Kaiser Wilhelm II

Wilhelm II was Kaiser (Emperor) from 1888-1918, when he was forced to abdicate. During most of WWI Germany was ruled by the Army, using civilian puppet politicians.
3. What was the name of Germany's grand military plan for WWI?

Answer: Schlieffen Plan

The Schlieffen Plan envsiaged a quick, 'knock-out' blow against France and then an offensive against Russia, once France was subdued. It failed.

Hitler was a corporal in a Bavarian regiment, even though he was not a German citizen at the time.

Answer: Munich

Hitler's failed Putsch attempt landed him in Landsberg prison for about 6 months where he wrote the first part of 'Mein Kampf'.

Contrary to a widespread misconception there was a clear difference between an extermination camp and a concentration camp. The terms are not interchangeable. Extermination camps were designed solely to kill. Note that Auschwitz II and Majdanek were both concentration camps and extermination camps.

Answer: The Soviet Army

The Russians captured the city after weeks of fierce fighting.
10. Which Nazi Party leader (other than Hitler) committed suicide with his family in Hitler's Bunker in Berlin in April 1945?

Answer: Joseph Goebbels

Goebbels, the Propanganda Minister, committed suicide with his wife and small children in April 1945. Their bodies were set on fire in the open air and did not burn enough to make them unidentifiable.
