Answer: 8

You burn off around 80 calories an hour just sitting, so that's 7-8 hours of the legal twig for a 580 calorie Big Mac. Why bother exercising?
2. You know how it is. Its a lovely day. You're out in the garden. You drink one Budweiser, then another. Before you know it you've drunk 10 litres of the stuff. How much gardening do you need to do to burn off the calories?

Answer: 13 hours

10 litres is 4000 calories, and you burn off around 300 calories an hour gardening. Obviously, after 10 litres of Bud, this assumes you can see well enough to hold the spade.

Answer: 1/8th gallon

Its 2 hours 12 minutes long, and a gallon of ice cream's about 1400 calories. Of course if you don't like slushy films, you may lose the calories entirely.

Apparently golf only burns around 150 calories an hour, and 100 dried figs equals 4750 calories, so that's 32 hours of golf. Heaven preserve us.

About 15 hours swimming equals 8200 calories, so with French toast at 155 calories a slice, you can eat with impugnity.

6 scallops are around 195 calories, and shopping burns around 300 calories an hour. So don't hold back - go scallop crazy.

Honey is 65 calories per tablespoon, and waterskiing burns about 420 calories an hour. Note: the above are based on human exercise rates, and its perfectly possible that a cuddly toy bear wouldn't burn calories at the same rate, but I think that anyone who picks up on this is being pernickety.
9. How much Racquetball would William Tell need to play to burn off 2 pounds of Swiss cheese?

Answer: 6 hours

Swiss cheese is 105 calories the ounce, and racquetball burns 600 calories an hour. Possibly this explains why the Swiss are not known as a nation of great Racquetball players. Or possibly not.

Football burns 540 calories an hour, and a tablespoon of soy sauce is a trim 10 calories. Surprisingly, few diets recommend eating soy sauce exclusively.
