Answer: Marsyas

Marsyas, who played the flute, engaged in a musical contest with Apollo, master of lyre, and lost. The revenge of the god was cruel: he flayed the satyr alive.
2. Who claimed that she was better at weaving than Athena - the patron goddess of weaving herself?

Answer: Arachne

Arachne challenged Athena to a contest and was beaten by the goddess. Not being able to stand the humiliation, she took her own life. But the goddess pitied Arachne and changed her into a spider.
3. Andromeda's mother Cassiopeia claimed that her daughter was even more beautiful than the sea nymphs - what were they called?

Answer: Nereids

The Nereids got offended and complained to the sea god Poseidon, who sent a ravaging monster. Andromeda was to be sacrificed to him in order to placate the wrath of gods. But she was saved by Perseus, who killed the monster.

Medusa was a lovely girl who claimed to be more beautiful than Athena. As a punishment, she was changed into a hideous monster nobody could look at without being turned into a stone. In other versions of the myth (and there are many), she was a priestess in Athena's temple, who was raped by Poseidon. Her punishment(!) was being turned into a Gorgon.

Answer: All her children were killed

Niobe considered herself superior to Leto, because she had fourteen children, while the goddess had only two (Artemis and Apollo). The offended goddess complained to Artemis and Apollo, who in revenge killed all her children. The poor woman wept and eventually was transformed into a stone.

Answer: the sun

Icarus, the son of Daedalus, offended the god Helios by his boldness which made him fly too close to the sun. His wings cemented with wax melted, he fell into the sea and drowned.

Answer: Tityus

Leto was on her way to Pythos, when she was assaulted by Tityus. Apollo and Artemis came to her rescue and killed the giant with their arrows. Tityus was thrown into Hades, where his liver is being eaten by vultures.

Echo avenged herself by making the youth fall in love with his own image. This love being of course unrequited, he drowned himself in despair.
