1. In which musical will you hear the song 'Where is love?'?

Answer: Oliver!

Oliver, the eponymous hero of the musical by Lionel Bart, sings this song alone on the stage. The story is based on the Charles Dickens book 'Oliver Twist', about a young orphan making his way in the world in Victorian London.
2. 'Does it really have a team of snow white horses?' is a quote from a song in which musical?

Answer: Oklahoma!

The character Curly is bragging to his girlfriend Laurey about his wonderful new carriage in 'The Surrey with the Fringe on Top'. His answer to her question about the horses is 'one's like snow, the other's more like milk'. In fact the whole thing is a tease, and there is no surrey or horses.
3. In which musical does the main character sing, 'Would it spoil some vast eternal plan if I were a wealthy man?'?

Answer: Fiddler on the Roof

Tevye is a poor milkman with five daughters who lives in a small Jewish village in Russia. 4. Which musical contains the song 'How do you solve a problem like Maria?'?

Answer: The Sound of Music

The nuns at the convent where Maria lives before she is sent to look after the Von Trapp children sing this song. The words reveal that Maria is not really a problem but a normal, spirited teenager.
5. 'Why can't a woman be more like a man?' is a song from which musical?

Answer: My Fair Lady

Professor Higgins in 'My Fair Lady' is a confirmed bachelor and knows nothing about women. He has taken in Eliza Doolittle, a flower girl from Covent Garden, to teach her to speak like an upper class English lady. He finds it very puzzling when she has emotional feelings, and sings this song with his friend Colonel Pickering, who also has no understanding of the situation.

The show is based upon the play 'Pygmalion' by George Bernard Shaw. The lyrics are by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe.
6. 'Who will buy this wonderful morning?' is a question from which musical?

Answer: Oliver!

Oliver begins to sing this song, and gradually street sellers join in and sing about their various wares, until there is a wonderful full sound. The musical 'Oliver!' was written by Lionel Bart, based on the novel by Charles Dickens.

8. Which musician, whose life was made into a musical, sang 'Heartbeat why do you miss when my baby kisses me?'

Answer: Buddy Holly

The musical 'The Buddy Holly Story', written by Alan Janes and featuring many Buddy Holly songs, opened in London's West End in 1989, and since that time has been performed on Broadway and has toured many countries.
9. In which musical will you hear the words, 'Am I a fool without a mind, or have I really been too blind to realise?'?

Answer: Gigi

The character Gaston suddenly realises that Gigi, who he has known since she was a child, is no longer a funny, awkward little girl, but has blossomed into a beautiful young lady. In the film Gaston is played by Louis Jordan, who runs around Paris singing this song.
10. 'How can I hope to make you understand, why I do what I do?' Which musical is this from?

Answer: Fiddler on the Roof

Tevye's second daughter Hodel has fallen in love with a young communist who has been sent to Siberia. She sings this song while waiting with her father for a train to go and join him. They are the only two people in a vast landscape and the train comes and then takes a long time to disappear into the distance.

It gives a really poignant impression of how far Hodel is going away from home and family.
