Answer: New Orleans

The book actually says his plantation was outside New Orleans, but I figure it was probably in the same zip code. Anne Rice lived in New Orleans for a bit, until her husband Stan passed in 2002 and then she relocated to California to be closer to her son (who is also a writer!).

2. When the interviewer is introduced to us in the book, how was he referred to?

Answer: The Boy

We didn't learn his name until much later in the series; in fact, throughout this book, he is only referred to as "The Boy".

3. In the book Louis was upset over his brother's death; how did his brother die?

Answer: He hit his head on steps

In the movie, we were shown that Louis was upset over his lost wife and child, when in the book, he was never married. In the book we also learn that Louis had a mother and a sister in addition to the departed brother.

4. Louis was convinced that Lestat had ulterior motives; what was Louis sure that Lestat was after?

Answer: His plantation

Louis thought that Lestat was after his plantation because he needed a place for his ailing father. Unbeknownst to Louis, Lestat was wealthy beyond measure and Louis' holdings were the least of Lestat's concerns. None of these details were in the movie, all the more reason to love the books!

5. Claudia was a show stealer for the movie, in the book however she was painted in a bit of a different light. How old was Claudia when Louis came upon her?

Answer: 6 years old

In the movie, her portrayer was brilliant, but appeared a little older than the tender age of six.
