Answer: Fashion

He worked in art in "The Cat Who Could Read Backwards", interior design in "The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern," and Gourmet Food in "The Cat Who Saw Red." Never fashion though; he'd have hated it.
2. Why is Qwilleran's name spelled with a "qw" instead of a "qu?"

Answer: It's a true Danish spelling

Many people comment about his name and its spelling. Also, his name is shortened to form the title of his article in the "Moose County Something" to form a cute title.
3. Who is Qwill's lifelong friend?

Answer: Arch Riker

Full name: Archibald Riker. He moved up to Pickax to manage the "Moose County Something," and married Mildred Hanstable, the food writer.
4. How tall is Qwill?

Answer: 6' 2"

Qwilleran stands 6-foot-two with more black than grey hair. He has a pepper-and-salt mustache.
5. Which cat who Qwill has known, has not had a different name?

Kao K'o-Kung and Freya/Yu are the full names of Koko and Yum Yum. Brutus was Polly Duncan's cat who was also known as Bootsie. Catta was also owned by Polly Duncan, but the name was originally Catta to begin with.
6. What is Qwill's Scottish clan?

Answer: Mackintosh

His mother's name was Anne Mackintosh Qwilleran. Although, the "Qw" in his last name is Danish spelling.
7. What is the first name of the old lady who left the Klingenshoen fortune to Qwill?

Answer: Fanny

Fanny Klingenshoen was apparently pushed down the stairs, and Qwill lived in Pickax after she died to claim the millions. He started the Klingenshoen Foundation afterwards.

First visited in "The Cat Who Played Brahms," the cabin is on a lake about 100 miles across to Canada. A signpost with a "K" signifies the cabin's driveway.
