Answer: Cynical

Mitsuko is a cynical woman who constantly picks on her friend, Otsu, for his Christian beliefs.
2. What ailment does Isobe's wife succumb to?

Answer: Cancer

When his wife dies, Isobe tries to make sense of her death and goes soul searching in India.
3. Where do Mitsuko and her husband go on their honeymoon?

Answer: France

They ended up splitting off individually to see the things they wanted to enjoy by themselves. Mitsuko ends up running into Otsu on her honeymoon.
4. What is the vegetable that Otsu uses for God?

Answer: Onion

He uses the word "onion" because it sounded much more pleasant to Mitsuko, who was offended by God's name.
5. What does Numado do for a living?

Answer: Writes children's books

He likes to write children's books and he has an ability to talk to animals. On occasion, he had a dog and a couple of birds. He went to India and bought a bird from a pet shop to set it free.
6. While in combat, Kiguchi comes down with malaria and his friend gives him something strange to eat. What is it?

Answer: Human flesh

It turns out that the person being fed to Kiguchi was a dead comrade, and it freaked him out after finding out the truth about his "meal."

Answer: Isobe's wife

She did some volunteer work in a hospital before doing some soul-searching in India.

They were in the wrong place at the wrong time when, in October of 1984, Indhira Gandhi was murdered by a group of Sikhs.

Answer: Photographed the cadavers that were being carried out to the river

Mr. Sanjo was then chased by an angry mob, and managed to escape after Otsu stood in the way to stop them from maiming him. Otsu was then clobbered and sent to the hospital with a neck injury.
10. Why was Otsu rejected by the Catholic church?

Answer: His beliefs were more pantheistic than Christian

He believed that the God of the Christians was also the God of the Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, etc.
