Didactylos is a blind Ephebian philosopher who carries an unlit lantern.
He wrote "De Chelonian Mobile" also known as "The Turtle Moves" which explains how Discworld is flat and carried on the back of the Great A'Tuin.
Ironically, the Omnian rebels used it as a symbol of the Truth (that is, something that the Church doesn't like).

Fasta Benj and his people worshipped a newt god by the name P'Tang P'Tang. They have never seen any metal or fire before. They also believed that there are only 51 people in the world.
