Answer: The Chrysler Building

Pauline's tattoo is on her right upper arm. The tattoo surprises Jack since it contrasts with her otherwise simple appearance.
5. Jack's grandfather dies of a heart attack shortly after Peter's death.

Answer: False

Peter's father, John Mullen, dies shortly afterwards. It is with his grandfather, Mack's, help that Jack attempts to bring the murderers to justice.
6. Of Jack's friends, who is the hairdresser?

Answer: Sammy Giamalva

Marci Burt, a gardener, is also a close friend. Later in the book, it transpires that Sammy has been involved in the plot as official photographer of the lewd acts. Technically, Sammy was Peter's friend and is five years younger than the group, but he grew up with the Mullens. Fenton Gidley is a fisherman whom Jack has known since he was young. Hank Lauricella is a chef until he is fired for his involvement with the Mullens and Molly Ferrer is a teacher and part-time worker for a news channel. Jack uses his friends to make his plan successful.
7. Who does Jack observe Dana kissing at her family's pool?

Answer: Frank Volpi

Jack thought that he was in love with wealthy Dana until he found out she wasn't all she seemed. She had had relationships with many other men during their relationship including Jack's own brother, Peter and also her own father, Barry!
8. Who was Barry Neubauer's lawyer and Jack Mullen's boss at Nelson, Goodwin and Mickel?

Answer: William Montrose

William Montrose first warns Jack to abandon the investigation into Peter's death because Barry Neubauer is an important client. When Jack fails to do so, he is fired. Laura Richardson is Montrose's secretary with whom he is having an affair. Irving Bushkin is a criminal attorney and Tim Maguire is the Long Island district attorney who is later implicated in the scandal.
9. Sammy Giamalva is killed in a housefire.

Answer: False

The Fixer is killed in the housefire after Sammy slits his throat in the barber's chair. Although everyone at East Hampton believes it is Sammy who dies, Sammy actually dies later. We are never told exactly how he dies but Jack sees him fall from a residential tower block after a chance meeting in the Village.

He is carrying a fake ID so no one ever finds out that it wasn't him in the house fire.
10. What is the name of Barry Neubauer's wife?

Answer: Campion

It finally transpires that Campion has paid Sammy to photograph the sordid goings on at the Beach House. She is finally tried as an accessory. We do not hear from Campion until the televised 'trial' when she reveals the truth, much to the dismay of the other members of the group. I hope you've enjoyed the quiz. Thank you for playing.
