Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who helped Rick steal the collection of guns?

Answer: Glenn

Glenn went to the supply house to look through the collection of food available. He purposely took his time deciding. He was actually waiting for the construction crew to arrive so he could look at the weapon supply. When no one was looking, Glenn unlocked the window. Later, Rick and Glenn snuck in and took a few guns to protect themselves.
2. When a fellow construction worker was in danger, Tobin, the leader, ordered his people to get in formation. What was the name of the defensive formation?

Answer: Phalanx

Holly, a member of the original community, was attacked by a large group of zombies. When Abraham grabbed his gun and told everyone to help, they refused. The construction workers told him that they had to get in formation- the "Phalanx" formation. They stood back-to-back and shot at any approaching zombies. Instead of waiting, Abraham charged ahead and helped Holly.
3. At the end of the story, who did the construction people consider their leader?

Answer: Abraham

Abraham was disgusted when no one came to Holly's aid. He explained that when his group saw someone in need, they helped. Tobin's group went with a "save yourself" attitude. He earned his fellow workers' respect. Douglas was upset at how quickly the construction crew grew to like Abraham.
4. What idea did Rick have for defense for the community?

Answer: He wanted a lookout

Rick told Douglas that the community should have a lookout- not just for zombies. He suggested Andrea, since she was an excellent sharpshooter. Andrea was also the lookout for the group when they stayed at the prison. Douglas agreed, and the idea paid off, because Andrea was able to successfully protect the group.
5. What/who did Rick put a stop to in the story?

Answer: A man beating his son and wife

Minutes after arriving at the community, Rick noticed a little boy, Ron, running around with a black eye. Jessie, Ron's mother, always had to ask permission to do things from her husband, Pete. Rick could tell that something was off about Pete. Rick confronted Jessie and she admitted that Pete had been hitting her. He confronted Pete and the two fought.
6. Who was involved in the major fight within the community?

Answer: Rick and Pete

After Rick found out about Pete beating his wife, he attacked the man and a huge fight broke out. The two men crashed through a large window at the front of the house and both men sustained injuries to their faces. Douglas demanded that Rick immediately stop. Rick later admitted that he had crossed a line. Douglas made Pete move into another house afterward.
7. What did Glenn and Heath witness while out gathering supplies?

Answer: They saw a group throw a man into a horde of zombies

Heath took Glenn out for the first time. It was the job Glenn, who had raided areas before meeting the community, had been assigned. The two men noticed that a large number of zombies had gathered in an alley. They realized that the zombies had gotten together because they were hunting a group of humans. Glenn and Heath were shocked when they saw the group push an unwilling man into the arms of the zombies to escape the building they were stuck in.
8. The truth about Davidson was revealed. Who was he?

Answer: The founder of the community

There had been many whispers of a man named Davidson for weeks. Finally, after losing control and attacking Pete, Rick was pulled to the side by Douglas. He explained that Alexander Davidson was the man who recruited people to the small, gated community that ran on solar energy and had enough food to last a year.

But Davidson began to abuse his power, forcing sexual favors from women for protection. He made decisions that were bad for the community, so Douglas murdered him.
9. Who told Douglas that Rick's group was dangerous?

Answer: Gabriel

A few days after arriving at the community, the church was opened and Gabriel began to give sermons. Even a few nonbelievers attended his service. Gabriel was grateful to have found a meaning for his existence. He believed that God wanted Rick and his group out of the community, so he informed Douglas that they were all dangerous people. Douglas was upset and told Gabriel to mind his own business. Rick did what was necessary to keep his friends alive.
10. Who did not die in the story?

Answer: Spencer

Scott, who had gotten hurt falling off of a roof, passed away due to an infection in his broken leg. His best friend, Heath, was devastated. Pete was furious with Rick and got a kitchen knife. He tried to hunt him down but when Regina noticed, she tried to stop him. Pete lashed out and killed her. Douglas, Regina's wife, ordered Rick to kill Pete.

A funeral was held for all three people.
