Ellen Ripley was a surviving space traveler in the movie "Alien". She was told by the ship's doctor, who turned out to be an android, to bring a man on board who had a thing attached to his face. The thing eventually fell off and seemed to be dead. Everyone thought everything was okay until a living creature burst out of the man's chest and ran away.
The alien life form eventually grew big and killed everyone on board except Ripley and the cat.
2. King Kong

This was based on the 1930s movie "King Kong", but there were changes. An oil tanker was on the way to an island where men hoped to find petroleum. Jack noticed a raft with a woman floating in the ocean. A woman who called herself Dwan (Her name was Dawn but she switched a few letters) was brought on board.
When they reached the island, the natives wanted to sacrifice Dwan to their god, Kong. Kong turned out to be a giant gorilla. Kong was captured and taken to New York City, where it escaped and climbed the World Trade center with Dwan.
3. Halloween

Michael Myers was a boy who became violent one Halloween and killed his sister. He was sent to a mental institution until he was 21. When Dr. Loomis arrived to pick him up, Michael was already running around loose and stole a car. On Halloween 1978 Michael followed Laurie around after she left a key at the old Myers house, where Michael was hiding. That night Laurie found her dead friends in the house across the street from where she was babysitting. Michael attacked her, and Laurie spent the rest of the night fighting him off.
4. Being There
Answer: Eve Rand
Eve was a woman married to an older wealthy man. She rode her limo one night when the car accidentally backed into a man named Chance. He was slightly injured, so she took him to her large estate, where Chance met her husband. Eve's husband seem to think Chance was a good man who could take care of Eve. Eve acted as though she loved Chance within a few days of meeting him, but she didn't realize Chance was a simple minded man who knew nothing about the world except for what he saw on television.
5. Blazing Saddles
Answer: Lili
Lili was a woman sent to seduce Sheriff Bart in this slapstick send up of old Western movies. Her boss wanted the townspeople to leave so he could make money selling the land to the railroad. However, Lili fell in love with the sheriff and helped the townspeople fight back.
6. Superman the Movie
Answer: Lois
Lois Lane was a reporter sent to interview someone who sold a bunch of "worthless" land to Lex Luthor. The big earthquake happened when Luthor sent a nuclear missile to the San Andreas Fault. The earth opened up under Lois Lane's car, swallowing the car and killing Lois. Superman was flying around saving people until he found her dead body.
He quickly flew around the Earth repeatedly until the planet spun backwards. This reversed time. (Really?) Then Superman flew the other way to make time go forward again.
When Superman landed, he saw that Lois was alive, and he flew away to capture Lex.
7. The Amityville Horror
Answer: Lutz
Mrs. Lutz (Margot Kidder, who had also played Lois Lane) didn't know what to think after her family moved into a house in Amityville. A family had previously been murdered there, but the price was right. A priest arrived to bless the house, but he got sick. One night the babysitter became stuck in the closet. Her husband was cold all the time, and the walls bled.
8. Revenge of the Pink Panther
Answer: Legree
Simone Legree was having an affair with her married boss, referred to as "The French Connection". His wife insisted he had to break up with her permanently, but Simone Legree didn't like it. Her boss ordered some men to kill her, but Chief Inspector Clouseau got in the way. Simone told Clouseau that her boss had tried to kill Clouseau so he could do a drug deal in Hong Kong. Simone went to Hong Kong with Clouseau and Cato to try to capture the bad guys.
9. Beneath the Planet of the Apes

Nova was a primitive woman who lived on the Planet of the Apes. She didn't speak, until one scene in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" when she shouted, "Taylor!" She was with Taylor riding a horse in the Forbidden Zone when she saw Taylor disappear. She eventually met some radiated people who were descended from survivors of a nuclear war.
They had lived underground while the talking apes took over the surface of the Earth. Taylor and Nova were eventually captured by these people while the apes planned to attack the Forbidden Zone.
10. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

Flo was a waitress at Mel's Diner. The movie primarily concerned Alice who had moved to various towns trying to raise her son. When Alice became a waitress at Mel's Diner, Flo was the experienced waitress who helped Alice learn what to do. This was the movie which inspired the TV sitcom "Alice". The character Flo was in the series "Alice" until she had her own sitcom called "Flo".
