But it isn't until almost a year later, when Christmas is approaching again, that he begins to believe that he really has become Santa.

Answer: The Little Rascals

For some reason I have always thought that Penny Marshall directed this movie, so I was surprised to learn that Penelope Spheeris was the director. The kids were the stars but there were many guest appearances from stars such as Whoopi Goldberg, Darryl Hannah, Reba McEntire and Donald Trump.
5. (1988) Lawrence Jamieson has taste and class, and he makes a lot of money running scams off of rich tourists in the French Riviera. Freddy Benson is a two bit grifter, who is about to intrude in Jamieson's territory. After an unsuccessful attempt to have Benson removed, the two men enter into a competition for the right to work the area. Unfortunately what they don't realize is that the mark that they've chosen is also a con-man, or should I say con-woman?

Answer: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

I am not a huge Steve Martin fan, but have to admit that I did enjoy him in this very funny movie. Michael Caine was perfect as Lawrence Jamieson, and Glenne Headly played Janet Colgate. Frank Oz directed.
6. (1983) First they have to rescue Han from Jabba the Hutt, then Luke returns to Dagobah in time to be there when Yoda dies. After that they have to blow up the shield generator on the Forest Moon of Endor so that the fleet can destroy the second Death Star, with the Emperor on board, and restore order to the universe.

Answer: Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi

Richard Marquand directed this last of the "Star Wars" episodes, starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Alec Guiness and the wonderful voice of James Earl Jones.
7. (1960) Fleeing with some stolen money, Marion Crane (played by Janet Leigh) makes an unfortunate stop at the Bates Motel. Norman Bates is a really nice guy, but sadly Marion meets up with his mother. Mom intrudes while Marion's taking a shower, in a scene that had many people preferring to bathe for a long time afterwards. This is arguably one of Hitchcock's most famous movies.

Answer: Psycho

Anthony Perkins was wonderful as Bates, while John Gavin and Vera Miles played Marion's boyfriend and sister, who were understandably anxious to find out what happened to her.
8. (2002) Sam and Richard are two very smart young men. They're so smart that they believe that they can pull off the perfect murder, and never get caught. What they didn't count on was the tenacity of Detective Cassie Mayweather, played by Sandra Bullock, whose past experience as a victim drives her to solve the murder and find vindication for the murdered girl.

Barbet Schroeder directed this movie that is similar to, yet very different from Hitchcock's 'Rope'. Ben Chaplin played Bullock's new partner, while Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt played the young men.

So he manages to convince them that he's crazy and gets himself tranferred. What he doesn't realize is that, that means that he's placed himself in the hands of Head Nurse Ratched, and she doesn't like to lose. Based on a wonderful novel by Ken Kesey.

Answer: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Louise Fletcher plays a very chilling Nurse Ratched in this Milos Forman directed movie that has appearances by Danny De Vito, Scatman Crothers and Christopher Lloyd.
10. (1986) The crew of the Enterprise has to go back to 20th century Earth to bring back two Humpback Whales, a species that had been hunted to extinction. They have to do this because an alien probe has come to investigate why its signal to the whales is no longer being answered. The signal from the probe becomes so strong as it nears the Earth, that it threatens to wipe out all life on the planet.

Answer: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Leonard Nimoy directed this, my favourite of the "Star Trek" movies. I loved it when it came out because of the message that in driving a species to extinction, we became in danger of becoming extinct ourselves. This summer I had the opportunity to see Humpback Whales, and now I find the message to be more important than ever.
11. (1954) Tony is a retired tennis pro, who realizes he is in danger of losing his wife to her American lover. He's not really all that concerned about losing his wife, but he is a bit concerned about having to live without her money. So he arranges for an old school mate to murder his wife when he is safely alibied at a Bachelor Party. His plan is to call his wife, luring her to the phone where she would be an easy target. But she fights back and kills her would-be killer, and he has to make a quick change in plans.

Ray Milland, Grace Kelly and Robert Cummings starred under Hitchcock's direction.

Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen and Deam Jagger join Bing in this wonderful movie. Michael Curtiz directed.
14. (1996) This delightful movie, based on a Roald Dahl book, is about a little girl who has the power to move things with her mind. Sadly she was born into a family who didn't want her, and sent to the worst possible school around. So when she finally finds a teacher she can love, and who loves her back, she'll do whatever she can to keep that teacher in her life.

Answer: Matilda

Danny De Vito both directed, and starred in this very funny movie, and Rhea Perlman, his real life wife, played his wife. Mara Wilson starred as Matilda and Embeth Davidtz played the sympathetic Miss Honey.
15. (1967) Christina and Matt Drayton raised their daughter to not be prejudiced, and they did a good job. In fact they did such a good job that she's chosen an African American to marry, a Dr. John Wade Prentice. Now Matt and Christina have to test the extent of their own beliefs, as do Dr. Prentice's parents. Stanley Kramer directed this ground-breaking movie, starring Sidney Poitier.

Answer: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

Mixed marriages are very common now-a-days, but they certainly were not common in 1967. Katharine Hepburn starred as the mother who was quick to accept, while Spencer Tracy does a marvellous job of showing the process that the father goes through, from total rejection of the idea, to eventual acceptance.
