Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the little black poodle that was in the 1987 horror/comedy, 'The Video Dead'?

Answer: Chocolate

Poor Chocolate wound up meeting his demise in the woods after having encountered one of the zombies. In the ending credits to this film, Chocolate had gotten his own "and" billing. His real name was Bachelor.
2. Guess the correct subtitle and tagline to the 1991 film, 'Child's Play 3'. (The answer is the same for both, so only one answer is required).

Answer: Look Who's Stalking

In this second sequel to the original film, Chucky managed to look up Andy and found out that he was now in military school. After having himself delivered to one of the other boys in the school, he soon began stalking Andy again. The comical subtitle (which was also the film's tagline) bore an obvious similarity to the title of the 1989 comedy, 'Look Who's Talking'.
3. What kind of outfit was the killer wearing in the 1981 slasher, 'Rosemary's Killer'?

Answer: Combat uniform

It was during the end of World War II when the first murders took place in the town of Avalon Bay. A woman named Rosemary sent a "Dear John" letter to her lover in the war saying that it was over between them. A few months later, Rosemary and her new boyfriend named Roy were killed at the town dance by someone wearing a combat uniform. Soon after, other murders had started happening.

This horror classic had also gone by the title 'The Prowler'.
4. Which one of these films did Tobe Hooper NOT direct?

Answer: The House by the Cemetery

The 1981 film 'The House by the Cemetery' was directed by Lucio Fulci. A couple named Norman and Lucy Boyle, along with their young son named Bob, wound up moving into this strange house where two murders had taken place several months earlier. Soon after settling in, creepy things began to happen, as well as more killings. And let's not forget about the creepy thing that was residing in the cellar! Those who enjoy films by Fulci should love this horror classic!
5. Here I present you with four titles. Choose the one that is a REAL 1995 film title about a killer tiger shark.

Answer: Cruel Jaws

'Cruel Jaws' was an Italian film about a very large tiger shark that killed people who were vacationing in Hampton Bay. This film has been called a mockbuster, since it blatantly "borrowed" actual scenes from the 'Jaws' film series, as well as from the 1980 film, 'Great White' (aka 'The Last Shark'). Two other titles that this film have gone by were 'Jaws 5: Cruel Jaws' and 'The Beast'.

It was never a part of the actual 'Jaws' film franchise, regardless of the title!
6. Which of these films had the tagline "This Summer, Go To Hell..."?

Answer: The Devil's Rejects

Rob Zombie wrote and directed this very violent and disturbing film. It came out in 2005, and was the sequel to his 2003 film, 'House of 1000 Corpses'. His wife, Sheri Moon, played the role of Baby in both films.
7. Which singer had a role in the 2010 film, 'Burning Bright'?

Answer: Meat Loaf

Meat Loaf played the role of a man who sold a tiger to a guy named John. John wanted this animal as an addition to a Safari Ranch that he hoped to get started. He let the very hungry animal loose in the house with his stepkids, Kelly and Tom. The house had been boarded up by John because of an approaching hurricane.

This had made it extremely difficult for Kelly and her autistic brother Tom to escape once they realized that they were now sharing their home with a wild tiger that hadn't been fed in over two weeks. Meat Loaf's role was a short one, as his character was shown only in the beginning of the film.

While he has played in many other films and t.v., he is most famous for his music. His 1977 album 'Bat Out of Hell' has been called one of the top-ten best selling albums of all time worldwide. Kelly was played by Briana Evigan, whose father, actor Greg Evigan, was famous for many roles in television and films.
8. What word fills in the blanks of these horror movie titles: '_____ Ride', '_____ Country', and '_____ Water'?

Answer: Dark

'Dark Ride'(2006) was part of the first 'After Dark Horrorfest' series. Jamie-Lynn Sigler of the hit series, 'The Sopranos' starred. It was about a masked killer who stalked and murdered teens at an amusement park. 'Dark Country' was released in 2009, and starred Thomas Jane, who also directed.

He played the role of a man named Dick who was traveling on the road with his new wife, Gina. While driving through the Nevada desert on their honeymoon, they wound up having a very strange encounter with a man they almost ran over, but who was already injured from another accident.

They decided to give him a ride to the hospital, and unfortunately, without giving away anything about the film, things wound up getting worse from that point on. 'Dark Water', which was first released in Japan in 2002 before being re-made in the U.S. and released in 2005, was about a single mom and her young daughter who moved into an apartment complex.

After they moved in, strange things started happening, which included a very leaky ceiling in their bedroom. Jennifer Connelly starred in the 2005 remake.
9. What was the tagline for the 1989 slasher, 'Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland'?

Answer: She's back to slash last year's record.

This funny slasher film came out in 1989 and was the second sequel in the 'Sleepaway Camp' film series. Angela the killer from the previous films was back again to hack up unsuspecting campers. In 1988, the first sequel released was called 'Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers'.
10. Which of these films has the tagline, "This road has no fairy tale ending"?

Answer: YellowBrickRoad

This 2010 horror movie was a very odd and disturbing film. The townspeople of Friar, New Hampshire had all left their homes and disappeared without any explanation. Seventy years later, a group of explorers decided to try and uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of the people who walked along the yellow brick road. What they had uncovered was unexplained music playing in the open air out of nowhere, as well as some of the explorers descending into madness, among other things. I recommend this film for its originality.
