Alliterative Titles 4 Trivia Quiz

I provide a year and clue to a film with an alliterative title (two or more syllables with the same initial letter or sound). For example, if the clue was "a coloured equine (1994)", the answer would be "Black Beauty". Just match the film and clue.

5. An ape falls in love with a young, pretty film star. (1933)

Answer: King Kong

King Kong was remade in 1976 and again in 2005. The final scenes of the original version are probably some of the most iconic in cinema history. The city of New York and the Empire State building are forever linked to this film.
6. James Dean plays a young man with family problems. (1955)

Answer: East of Eden

James Dean's character struggles with his brother for his father's attention while trying to reconnect with his estranged mother. He only made three before being killed in a car accident.
7. Part of London declares independence. (1949)

A London borough declares independence led by the actor Stanley Holloway who is famous for his funny monologues but is probably best known for playing the part of Alfred Doolittle, father of Eliza Doolittle in the film "My Fair Lady" (1964).
8. Bruce Willis plays a cat burglar forced to steal a painting by Leonardo do Vinci. (1991)

Answer: Hudson Hawk

9. Originally the first novel written by Jane Austen before a film adaptation was made in 1995.

10. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a teacher in a school for very young children. (1990)

Answer: Kindergarten Cop

Arnold is actually an undercover cop trying to trace the wife of a notorious criminal in this film. His character is a substitute teacher in a kindergarten. Trained teachers have a hard job controlling a class of 5 year olds. Somehow, Arnold's police training missed that somewhere along the line.
