Head coach Herb Brooks brought in another player in late during their training and many of the players were upset about it, thinking is was not fair. This was star goalie Jim Craig's response to those who felt Brooks was just messing with their minds. Jim had an amazing game against the Soviet Union and was a key part in their victory! He sometimes felt he was pushed too hard by head coach Herb Brooks, but all of the boys on the team seemed to respect him and he smiled a lot.

Mark Johnson finally said "We are a family!" Brooks never had any intention on keeping the new kid on the final roster.

Tired and beaten up and all hope seemingly lost for the boys, Eruzione screamed this quote with the remaining oxygen he had left in his lungs. Brooks then concluded the sprints. Shortly after that night, he made Eruzione his team captain.

Although Al Michaels and Ken Dryden redid most of the commentary for the movie, the closing seconds of the game against the Soviet Union use the actual original ABC Sports commentary from 1980.
