Thrown out of their easy research jobs at the university, three friends go into the 'paranormal extermination business'. Dr. Peter Venkman (played by Bill Murray) has this discussion with Dana Barrett (played by Sigourney Weaver), one of the first customers to actually call for their services.

As punishment for various infractions, five very different students are forced to give up a Saturday to serve an all day detention in the school library. The vice principal tries to keep the door open, so that he can hear what they're doing while he works in his office.

When a screw is removed from the door's hydraulic device, it will no longer stay open without propping, which is contrary to fire regulations. He accuses a student (played by Judd Nelson) of removing the screw, and receives this reply in response.

Finally coming to terms with the fact that he has a pretty decent baseball team to coach, even if they are girls, Jimmy Dugan (played by Tom Hanks) begins to take an interest in the games. When he yells at one of his outfielders for a mistake that she made, she begins crying, which distresses him no end.

When the investigating officer remarks that no one has ever proved that this Soze really exists, Verbal responds with this little bit of wisdom.

Years after their television show was cancelled, the cast members find themselves reliving their roles at conventions and supermarket openings, with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Commander Peter Quincy Taggart (played by Tim Allen) manages to deliver his signature line with a great deal of enthusiasm, but the same can't be said for the rest of the crew. Things begin to get really interesting when they find themselves drawn into a real adventure by aliens who have modeled their existence after the show, not realizing that it wasn't real.

Glinda(played by Billie Burke), the Good Witch of the North, sends her out of Munchinkinland, but not out of Oz, with these words.
