Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the heart of "Red Notice" is the theft of three priceless jeweled eggs that were given to which queen more than 2000 years before the main action of the film?

Answer: Cleopatra

In "Red Notice" the three jeweled eggs were given from Mark Antony to Cleopatra for their wedding as a symbolic sign of his devotion to her. The eggs were believed lost until a farmer uncovered two of them in 1907. Historically, Mark Antony and Cleopatra lived in the first century BCE, had three children together, were married for the last two years of their lives and had a scandalous relationship for a decade prior to being married.
2. In what capital city did Nolan Booth steal the first jeweled egg from the Castel Sant'Angelo museum?

Answer: Rome

Before the first egg is stolen there is a scene in the film in which a man, presumably Nolan Booth, is creating a forgery of one of Cleopatra's eggs. This fake egg is swapped out for the real egg at the Castel Sant'Angelo museuem in Rome. Suspecting that the egg may be stolen, FBI Special Agent John Hartley and Inspector Urvashi Das are sent to the Castel Sant'Angelo where it is discovered that a fake egg is in the place of the real egg and a chase for Nolan Booth ensues.

The Castel Sant'Angelo was originally constructed in Rome as a tomb for the Emperor Hadrian in 139 CE. Over time it was used by popes as a castle until 1906 when it was repurposed as a museum.
3. After Hartley assists with Booth's capture in Bali, he is seemingly framed as an accomplice and they are both sent to a Russian prison. Working together, how do they escape this prison?

Answer: Helicopter

Although they were adversaries, while in prison Booth and Hartley seemingly develop a friendship... or at least Booth believes so. The first day at the prison Booth causes Hartley to get into a fight so that he can steal a keycard from a guard. Later Booth creates another distraction via a nitroglycerin explosion that allows him and Hartley to start their escape.

They eventually get past guards to a helicopter that Booth pilots away as a rocket is fired that narrowly misses them.
4. The heist of the second egg involved stealing it from the private collection of a Spanish weapons dealer. Who was this criminal whose name translates to mean whisper?

Answer: Sotto Voce

The heist of the second jeweled egg involved infiltrating a masquerade party in Valenica, Spain hosted by the sadistic Sotto Voce. Interestingly, another thief, Sarah Black, arrives to steal the egg at the same time as Hartley and Booth. Surprisingly, Black reveals to them that she is actually working with Sotto Voce.
5. As Booth and Hartley get to know each other better they both learn that they are estranged from their fathers. What item did Booth's father claim that he had stolen from him that caused tension with their relationship?

Answer: Watch

Booth's father was a cop and he ended up a criminal whereas Hartley's father was a criminal and he ended up in law enforcement. Booth describes to Hartley that when he was young his father accused him of stealing a watch and wouldn't talk to him for a whole year.

His father eventually found the watch that he had misplaced and eventually sent his son off to boarding school. In response, Hartley states, "It doesn't matter what you did, it matters what they think you've done."
6. After escaping from the arms dealer, Hartley and Booth come in contact with a deadly animal. What is this beast that Booth tells Hartley to not move as they have poor eyesight?

Answer: Bull

After the masquerade party in Valencia, Sotto Voce and Sarah Black torture Booth and Hartley into giving information as to the location of the third egg. The two escape through a trap door and end up in a bull ring. After Hartley is told to not move he tells Booth that not moving only applied in the movie "Jurassic Park".

In spite of not believing Booth, Hartley stands his ground to the bull and ends up being thrown into the air by it.
7. While on a train, Booth reveals to Hartley that the third egg was likely taken to Argentina by Rudolph Zeich. What world leader was Zeich the personal art curator for?

Answer: Adolf Hitler

Booth believes that the third egg is in Argentina because of inscriptions on his father's watch indicated that it was owned by Rudolph Zeich, the personal art curator of Adolf Hitler. After the fall of the Third Reich in 1945, Zeich fled Germany for Argentina taking with him countless artifacts including Cleopatra's third egg.

Although it made for an interesting plot line, Rudolph Zeich was an individual created solely for "Red Notice" and was not a real person.
8. After Hartley, Booth and Sarah Black steal the third egg a bombshell is revealed to Booth. What criminal nickname derived from a board game playing piece do Hartley and Black reveal that they are?

Answer: The bishop

Throughout "Red Notice", Sarah Black's character is referred to as the bishop and Hartley's character is presumably trying to arrest her as she has framed him for the theft of the first egg. However, after stealing the third egg rather than handcuffing Black, Hartley reveals that the are working together as the bishop and that they have been using everyone else including Booth as pawns.
9. When Hartley, Sarah Black and Booth get away with the third egg Inspector Das puts out a 'Red Notice' on all three of them. What organization that Das works for issues this type of alert?

Answer: Interpol

The title of the film, "Red Notice" is a reference to Interpol's highest alert for the arrest of an individual. In the film Das takes each of their files and emphatically stamps them with a red notice. A red notice is "to seek the location/arrest of a person wanted by a judicial jurisdiction or an international tribunal with a view to his/her extradition".

They function as an international arrest warrant and in 2015 Interpol issued more than 11,000 red notices.
10. Booth is able to locate Hartley and Sarah Black and he proposes that they pull off another heist. At what famous locale does "Red Notice" end implying that they are going to steal something from that site?

Answer: The Louvre in Paris

While Hartley and Sarah Black are on their yacht Booth sneaks on and tells them that the $300 million they had in a Cayman Islands account for selling Cleopatra's eggs has been frozen by Interpol. He also tells them that they can either assist him with a three-person heist or they will be arrested by Interpol. Reluctantly they agree to the heist and the next scene shows the beautiful glass Louvre Pyramid located outside of the Louvre museum.

The film does not mention what their target is at the Louvre but one can guess that it is a priceless work of art such as the "Mona Lisa".
