Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What do Judy's parents do for a living?

Answer: Carrot farming

Bonnie and Stu Hopps are carrot farmers, and want Judy to go into the family business, but Judy is much more interested in becoming the first rabbit police officer. They try to talk her out of it, but eventually accept her decision. However, they warn her to be careful of predators and give her various anti-fox repellents, foxes being the natural enemies of rabbits (and one particularly nasty fox bullied Judy as a child).
2. When Judy first meets Nick, what is he doing?

Answer: Trying to buy a giant ice lolly

Nick is in an ice-cream shop with his young son, and is refused service by the elephant on the counter. Judy feels sorry for them, and steps in and buys them a giant ice lolly. Unfortunately, it turns out that Nick's 'son' is actually an adult fennec fox, and he and Nick are melting down the giant lolly to make 'pawpsicles', smaller paw-shaped lollies which Nick then sells.
3. Fourteen predators have gone missing, and the wife of Emmitt, one of the predators, pleads with the police to help. Judy ends up taking on the case, despite Chief Bogo trying to stop her. What kind of animal is Emmitt?

Answer: Otter

The unfortunate otter's name is Emmitt Otterton, which is a bit of a giveaway! Mrs Otterton tearfully begs the police to find her husband, and Chief Bogo tries to turn her away, but Judy interrupts and says she will help look for Emmitt. Bogo is furious and would have fired Judy if Dawn Bellwether, the assistant mayor, had not overheard and instantly told the mayor that Judy would be taking on the case. Bogo has no choice but to let her, but gives Judy an ultimatum: if she doesn't find Emmitt Otterton within 48 hours, she must hand in her badge.
4. Judy gets Nick to help her after recording him talking about tax evasion, which she threatens to use as blackmail. Nick takes her to a nudist resort, which is where Emmitt went after buying a pawpsicle from him, and they get talking to Yax, one of the workers there, who gives them important information. What does he NOT reveal about Emmitt?

Answer: His last phone conversation

Yax is a hippy yak who seems rather ditzy, but is actually a valuable source of information. He goes to ask Nangi, an Indian elephant and yoga instructor, for information about Emmitt as according to stereotypes, elephants have amazing memories. While Nangi remembers little about Emmitt and even gets his species wrong (calling him a 'beaver'), Yax is able to describe Emmitt's clothing in great detail.

He also remembers the time Emmitt came, the number plate of the limo that picked Emmitt up, and that it had a problem with its third cylinder.
5. Nick mentions he has a friend at the DMV who may be able to help him and Judy. However, there's one problem - the workers at the DMV are very, very slow. What species are all the workers at the DMV?

Answer: Sloths

What Nick fails to mention to Judy is that the workers at the DMV are all sloths, and they take a very long time to do anything. Although they get a location for the limo, Flash, Nick's friend, talks so slowly that by the time they get out, it's night.

It doesn't help that Nick tells him a joke about camels, and Flash finds it so funny he just has to tell one of his co-workers. And according to Nick, he's one of the faster ones there!
6. Nick and Judy enter the limo, only to discover that it's the property of a notorious shrew gangster, Mr Big, and his polar bear goons show up and kidnap them. Mr Big tells the goons to throw Judy and Nick into a pool of icy water, but his daughter Fru Fru stops him in time. Why?

Answer: Judy saved her life earlier in the film.

Earlier in the film, when Judy was chasing Duke Weaselton through an area populated by small rodents, he threw a giant artificial doughnut at her, and it almost crushed a group of shrews - one of whom was Fru Fru - to death. However, Judy grabbed hold of the doughnut in time, saving Fru Fru's life. Fru Fru turns out to be Mr Big's daughter, and she is about to be married.

She reminds her father that he promised not to ice anyone on her wedding day. Both Judy and Nick are invited to the wedding, where Mr Big reveals that Emmitt went 'savage' and attacked Manchas, his chauffeur - hence the claw marks on the interior of the car.
7. Judy and Nick visit Manchas, a jaguar chauffeur, but he turns savage and attacks them. Although Nick traps him and Judy calls for backup, he escapes. They track him down to an asylum guarded by wolves. How do they trick the wolves in order to enter the facility?

Answer: Judy howls, forcing the wolves to start a group howl

Judy assumes that 'night howlers' means wolves, and sure enough, after following Manchas on the city's traffic cameras, they discover that he was captured by wolves and taken to the asylum. As wolves have a tendency to howl, Judy takes advantage of this and fools Larry, one of the wolves, into thinking that his partner Gary howled.

The wolves cannot help themselves and start a group howl, which distracts them enough to miss Judy and Nick sneaking into the asylum, where they find several caged predators, Emmitt and Manchas among them.

They also discover that Mayor Lionheart is involved. Judy's phone goes off, and she and Nick have to hide in a toilet, but she manages to contact the police, and the mayor and asylum doctor are arrested.
8. At a press conference following the arrest of Mayor Lionheart, Judy makes a speech about predators which causes tensions between predators and prey, and angers Nick. She quits the force in shame and goes home to her family. While there, she makes an important discovery about night howlers, which Emmitt had mentioned, according to Manchas. They are not wolves, but something else entirely. What are night howlers?

Answer: Flowers

Judy helps out on her parents' farm, and notices some blue flowers in a field. Her parents talk about night howlers and recall that a relative went mad after eating one of the flowers, and Judy realises that night howlers are not wolves, but a type of crocus with psychotropic effects which can turn animals savage (even rabbits).

Moreover, the contents of Weaselton's bag, which Chief Bogo thought were rotten onions, were actually crocus bulbs. She puts two and two together and frantically drives back to the city.
9. Nick and Judy reconcile, and with the help of Mr Big, they get Duke Weaselton to confess where he got the night howlers. He tells them it was from a ram called Doug, and they track Doug and his fellow sheep, Woolter and Jesse, down to their laboratory. What is the venue for the sheep's drug laboratory?

Answer: A disused subway car

Doug grows night howlers in his lab and uses their juice to make a drug, which he puts in pellets and fires at predators from a dart gun. It is shown that he got both Emmitt and Manchas this way. During a phone conversation, he reveals that his aiming skills are so good, he even hit a cheetah. When he goes out to get a drink, Judy and Nick get hold of the dart gun, and Judy discovers that the subway car still works and attempts to drive it. Woolter and Jesse smash their way into the cabin and fight with Judy and Nick, and they narrowly avoid collision with a train by averting the tracks. The subway car blows up and the lab is destroyed, but luckily, Nick still has the gun and the serum.

Incidentally, some adult viewers may notice the names of Doug's helpers sound familiar. They're a shout-out to the protagonists of 'Breaking Bad', chemistry teacher-turned-meth king Walter White and his assistant Jesse Pinkman.
10. Who is revealed to be the mastermind behind the animals going savage?

Answer: Dawn Bellwether

Dawn Bellwether, a sheep, the new mayor and previous mayor's assistant, is revealed to be the mastermind behind the attacks. (Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing!) Judy and Nick arrive at the Natural History Museum, where they meet Bellwether and a pair of sheep officers, and Judy becomes suspicious when she wonders how Bellwether knew where to find them.

It turns out that Bellwether is the mastermind behind an anti-predator conspiracy; she wants to incite the 'prey' animals to rise up against predators, in no small part because she's fed up of years of mistreatment by her former boss, a lion. By turning the predators savage, she hopes that it will turn the prey animals against them, and keep her in power. As she and Judy are both herbivores and prey, she tries to get Judy to side with her, but Judy refuses and Bellwether shoots Nick with the dart gun, in the hope that he will kill Judy. Nick attacks Judy, but it turns out to be a fake - Nick had swapped the pellet with a blueberry, and Judy had Bellwether's confession recorded on tape. Bellwether is arrested, and Nick joins the force as its first fox officer.
