Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I believe that beauty magazines promote low self-esteem"

Answer: Savage Garden

Aussie duo Savage Garden had a huge hit with their self-titled debut album both in Australia ond overseas. The above line is from the title track of their second album "Affirmation" (1999). Sadly, Savage Garden decided to call it quits at the end of 2001 after only 2 studio albums.
2. "You kiss me, I'm falling, it's your name I'm calling"

Answer: Kylie Minogue

From her song "On a Night Like This", which she performed in the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
3. "I laugh, I feel, I make believe it's real"

Answer: Kasey Chambers

From the song "Not Pretty Enough", which Kasey actually wrote as a bit of a jab at Australian radio for not giving her airplay! She had the last laugh, though, becoming the first Australian country artist to have a simultaneous number 1 single and album in Australia (with "Not Pretty Enough" and "Barricades and Brickwalls" respectively).
4. "Stumbling along and getting nothing because your eyes are always on your feet"

Answer: Killing Heidi

From the single "Mascara" off their hugely successful debut album "Reflector".
5. "Saw you moving in slowly, caught a glint in your eye . . "

Answer: Taxiride

From the song "Creepin' Up Slowly" off their second album "Garage Mahal".
6. "There's no aphrodisiac like loneliness, truth, beauty and a picture of you . . "

Answer: The Whitlams

From the single "No Aphrodisiac". The Whitlams actually named themselves after an Australian Prime Minister of the 70's, Gough Whitlam.
7. "You say that you never had a mum and nobody needs you, so cry, so cry"

Answer: Vanessa Amorosi

The above line is from the song "Shine", taken from Vanessa's debut album "The Power", which reached 4 times platinum status in Australia.
8. "I'm here to tell you baby I know how to rock your world"

Answer: Madison Avenue

From the dance act's debut single "Don't Call Me Baby", which featured on the album "Polyester Embassy".
9. "I only have one second, this minute, today, can't press rewind, turn it back and call it now"

Answer: George

From the beautiful song "Breathe In Now", which features on George's debut album "Polyserena", which has gone double platinum in Australia since its release in early 2002.
10. "Frosted lipstick, parachute pants, Doc Marten's, dead can dance . ."

Answer: Darren Hayes

After Savage Garden split, its lead singer Darren Hayes recorded a solo album, Spin. The above line is taken from the really fun song "Crush (1980 ME)" which features on the album and was released as a single in Australia in 2002. The song is about Hayes' love of all things 80's.
