Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. It is known that Black Sabbath started as The Polka Tulk Blues Band, but before they finally chose the name Black Sabbath they had another name. It was a grocery related item. What was the name of the band?

Answer: Blues Band Margarine

Black Sabbath has had great success with many different band mates. They have had Ozzy Ozbourne, Ronnie James Dio, Ian Gillian, David Donato, Glenn Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin as front men.
2. What band did Dave Mustaine play with before he started Megadeth?

Answer: Metallica

Mustaine was with Metallica from 1981 to 1983. He co-wrote four songs with them that appeared on "Kill Em All" and co-wrote two songs that appeared on "Ride the Lightning". He then formed Fallen Angels which later became Megadeth.
3. Where did the band name for Judas Priest come from?

Answer: A Bob Dylan Song

My favorite song is "Victims of Changes", a great tune to listen to if you are new to this band. Judas Priest played their first gig in November of 1969. They released their first album "Rocka Rolla" in August 1974.
4. What Metallica band member lost his life in a bus tour accident in 1986?

Answer: Clifford Lee Burton

Metallica has won nine Grammy awards, four AMA awards and three Billboard awards. They have achieved over 30 other music awards as well.
5. Slayer's "Raining Blood" was covered by which artist?

Answer: Tori Amos

Seemed like it is always the metal bands covering pop music, what a nice change! "Christ Illusion" entered the Billboard 200 at number five, an all time high for for the band.
6. What musician connects Pantera and Damageplan?

Answer: Darrell Abbott

Both were awesome bands! The loss of Darrell "Dime-bag" Abbott on December 8th, 2004 left a void for Damageplan after an obsessed fan shot him onstage at a concert in Columbus, Ohio.
7. Iron Maiden has had three singer, please choose the correct list!

Answer: Paul Di'Anno, Blaze Bayley and Bruce Dickinson

A lot of controversy over who has been the best. I for one believe they each made valuable contributions to the band. My favorite song from the Paul Di'Anno period is "Remember Tommorow" while my favorite with Bruce Dickinson on lead vocals is "Die With Your Boots On".
8. System of a Down got their name from a poem one of the band members wrote called "Victims of a D"own. Which band member wrote the poem?

Answer: Daron Malakian

I recommend starting with the song "BYOB". If this song doesn't get your attention, then nothing this band does will attract you! These guys released five studio albums before going on hiatus in 2006.
9. Accept's "Balls to the Wall" album was release in which year?

Answer: 1983

One of the most underrated bands ever, in my opinion. This band has been around off and on since as early as 1968 and has released 14 albums, the first in 1979. I have been a fan since the release of the self titled "Accept" release.
10. The lead singer for Avenged Sevenfold is called M. Shadows. What is his real name?

Answer: Matthew Sanders

Definitely the band slated to lead the way for the lastest metal. The bands sixth album, "Hail to the King" is one of my favorites. Check these guys out and enjoy metal mania till you just can't bang your head anymore!
