The main band members are Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle. Several studio musicians have been involved with the band including Pelle Alsing, Vicki Benckert, Jonas Isacsson and Clarence Ofwerman. Roxette became international superstars with the release of their second album "Look Sharp!" released in 1988. Five tracks from the album was released as singles, three of the songs went on to become chart toppers. The singles released was "The Look", "Chances", "Dressed for Success", "Listen to Your Heart" and "Dangerous".

Phil Collins left the band in 1993, although it wasn't officially announced until 1996.

Collins went on to become a solo artist and has worked on a couple of animated feature films. His voice was used in the film "Balto" and "The Jungle Book 2". In the animated film "Tarzan" Collin's sang the soundtrack.

Nirvana was formed in 1987 by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, although it would be in 1988 when the band went by the name of Nirvana. The line up changed for the first few years before Dave Grohl joined the band in 1990. Nirvana was now settled and success would follow.

"Emotions" reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 17 on the UK singles chart. Mariah Carey's second studio album is also called "Emotions".

Mariah Carey's career began in 1990 with Columbia Records. The first 5 singles released all made the number one position on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. The first chart topper was "Vision Of Love" followed by "Love Takes Time". 1991 chart toppers were "Someday", "I Don't Wanna Cry" and "Emotions". "Let's Talk About Sex" stalled at number 13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 2 on the UK singles chart. Salt-n-Pepa is a trio from Queens, New York. Members of the group are Cheryl "Salt" (James) Wray, Sandra "Pepa" Denton and Deidra "Dee Dee" Roper (Spinderella). The groups first album was "Hot, Cool & Vicious" released in 1986. Tracks from the album include "Push It" a former chart hit, "The Showstopper" and "Beauty and the Beat". Moving back to 1991 "Let's Talk About Sex" was taken from their third album "Blacks' Magic" released in 1990. The lyrics to the song are about safe sex and the good and bad things related to sex in general in the 90's.
