Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who recorded "Dream Weaver" (1976)?

Answer: Gary Wright

Warner Bros. label, Jan. 1976. This was Gary's only hit. He was formerly with the band Spooky Tooth (I swear I'm not making this up!)
2. Who sang "Stumblin' In" (1979)?

Answer: Suzi Quatro and Chris Norman

RSO label, Jan., 1979. Suzi also recorded "All Shook Up" in 1974, which apparently was no threat to Elvis's supremacy.
3. Who were the artists on "One of a Kind (Love Affair)" (1973)?

Answer: The Spinners

Atlantic label, April, 1973. The Spinners were on the charts many times from 1961 to 1980.
4. "Message to Michael" (1966) was a hit for whom?

Answer: Dionne Warwick

Scepter label, April, 1966. Not as well remembered as "I Say a Little Prayer" or "What the World Needs Now," but a definite hit.
5. Who charted with "You're the Inspiration" (1984)?

Answer: Chicago

Full Moon-Warner label, November, 1984. One of the later hits for the guys originally known as the Chicago Transit Authority. Remember how all their albums were numbered? "Chicago One," "Chicago Two," etc.? Gosh, I'm starting to sound like Casey Kasem!
6. Who sweated in the studio waxing "Circle in the Sand" (1988)?

Answer: Belinda Carlisle

MCA label, April, 1988. A very pretty song from the very pretty former Go-Go, whose debut solo single was "Mad About You" on IRS in 1986.
7. Who swung on "Swingin'" (1983)?

Answer: John Anderson

Warner Bros. label, March, 1983. This record went gold but I'll be darned if I remember it!
8. Who was the artist whose only BIG hit was "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair)" (1967)?

Answer: Scott McKenzie

Ode label, June, 1967, during the so-called Summer of Love in SF. This song will forever conjure up Haight-Ashbury, love-ins, and a whole lotta drugged-up people!
9. Who grooved on "The Groove Line" (1978)?

Answer: Heatwave

Epic label, May, 1978. Another gold record I can't remember. Maybe if I heard it! Heatwave also did "Boogie Nights" and "Always and Forever," so they were no slouches!
10. Who did "Dance with Me" (1975)?

Answer: Orleans

Asylum label, July, 1975. Two of Orleans' other hits are "Still the One" and "Love Takes Time," but no more since 1979. Too bad. They were even better than Poco.
