Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ernie the fast milko, created by the well known lyricist Benny Hill, had a rival for Sue's attention. Who was he?

Answer: Two Ton Ted

Once Benny Hill's "Ernie - The Fastest Milkman in the West" gets into your head, you are doomed. Two Ton Ted from Teddington killed Ernie in a bun fight. Trigger was Ernie's horse and the others are just made up.
2. Sylvia's mother told Dr Hook's caller that Sylvia is going to.... where?

Answer: Galveston

So "Sylvia's Mother" said AND he had to pay 40 cents more for the privilege of hearing that terrible news. Some fellow down Galveston way had stolen her heart.
3. "Now Fiddler's Green is a place I hear tell" (according to this old sea shanty) - where or what is Fiddler's Green?

Answer: Where fisherman go, if they don't go to hell

"Fiddler's Green" is a sad, romantic ballad of the sea. I hope, as an old sailor, that I'll end up in Fiddler's Green. There are many versions of the song and my personal favourite is performed by the "Yetties" - anybody heard of them?
4. Where was Tommy's domain as a gaming wizard?

Answer: Soho down to Brighton

The WHO fans will get this one easy. Tommy was the "Pinball Wizard".
5. The silent "..words of the prophets were written on.." what?

Answer: Subway walls and tenement halls

"Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again" - thanks to Simon and Garfunkel for a most poignent ballad, "The Sound of Silence".
6. "Words" didn't come easily to whom?

Answer: F R David

A one hit wonder in 1987 by F R David. "Word's don't come easy to me, how can I find a way to make you see?" Do a Funtrivia quiz?
7. "Some try to tell me, Thoughts they cannot defend, Just what you want to be you.." what?

Answer: will be in the end

The classic and best ballad ever written. Justin Hayward and John Lodge of the Moody Blues with their "Nights in White Satin"
8. According to the song, when it's "Friday night and the lights are low", what sort of music will "make things fine" and put you into the mood for dancing?

Answer: Rock

"Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the musics high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
Youre in the mood for a dance"

Yeah - you are the Dancing Queen, thanks ABBA
9. According to Pussycat - the country song "lost its soul" when what happened?

Answer: The guitar turned to rock and roll

"Now the country song for ever lost its soul
when the guitar player turned to rock & roll
and everytime when the summernights are falling
I will always be calling dreams of yesterday"

Pussycat's lovely little number "Mississippi"
10. Ground control advised Tom to do what?

Answer: Take protein pills and put on helmet

"Space Oddity" by David Bowie - a 1969 classic, with Major Tom being blasted off and given cause for newspapers to write about his shirts. Was Neil Armstrong inspired by it?
