Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which word is missing from the singer's description of someone who back-stabbed others in the song 'Shockwave'? 'You're a ___ , you're a weasel You're a tadpole in the sea'

Answer: snake

'Shockwave' is both the first song on Liam Gallagher's album 'Why Me? Why Not.' and the first of the tracks from the album to be released as a single. After it came out in the UK on the 5th of June 2019 it rose to number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. The music video of the song was uploaded to YouTube on the 13th of June 2019.

Like three other tracks, 'Shockwave' was released as a single before the album itself was released. Liam Gallagher co-wrote all the songs on the album and Greg Kurstin and Andrew Wyatt were his co-writers on this particular song. In total four producers - Adam Noble, Andrew Wyatt, Greg Kurstin and Simon Aldred - were involved in recording the album and each worked on some of the songs.
2. What is the other person being asked to do in 'One of Us'? 'C'mon I know you want more C'mon and ___ ___ ___ '

Answer: open your door

The song 'One of Us' was co-written by Liam Gallagher and Andrew Wyatt and was the fourth track from Liam's album 'Why Me? Why Not.' to be released as a single, coming out in the UK on the 16th of August 2019. It proved more popular in the Scottish Singles Chart, where it reached number 9, than in the overall UK or the Ireland Singles Charts.

It has been suggested that this song is addressed to Liam Gallagher's brother, Noel, as the two did not always have a harmonious relationship when they were in the band Oasis, but this is not known for certain. However the music video, which was released in the UK on the 28th of August 2019, shows Liam with photographs of him, Noel and their other brother when they were young. Liam is later shown entering a building with '28.08.09' (the date Oasis broke up) inscribed on its door.
3. In the song 'Once' how did the friend go down? 'But oh, I remember how you used to shine back then You went down so easy like a ___ ___ ____, my friend'

Answer: glass of wine

"Once" is the third song from Liam Gallagher's second solo album, 'Why Me? Why Not?' to be issued as a single. It was released on the 26th of July 2019 and rose to number 49 on the overall UK Singles Chart and to number 13 on the Scottish Singles Chart.

The song was co-written by Liam Gallagher and Andrew Wyatt, and was certified as silver for selling over two hundred thousand copies by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). At 7:52 am on its release date Liam Gallagher posted on Twitter that he believed it to be one of the best songs he had ever contributed to.
4. What does the singer want someone to let his love do in 'Now That I've Found You'? 'Let my love ___ you Now that I've found you'

Answer: surround

'Now That I've Found You' was written by Liam Gallagher and Simon Aldred and is about Liam meeting and getting to know Molly, his daughter from a previous relationship with singer Lisa Moorish. An interview he gave to 'GQ' magazine in July 2017 shows he had acknowledged Molly and supported her financially, but the first time they met was when she was nineteen or twenty years old.

In an interview on Chris Moyles' UK radio show on Radio X Liam spoke of the song being both dedicated to Molly and about her and talked of it having a pleasant feel about it for him. Whereas four of the songs from Liam's album 'Why Me? Why Not?' were released before the album itself was, 'Now That I've Found You' was released afterwards in October 2019.
5. His baby is described by the singer as what in the song 'Halo'? 'When it's freezing, she's my mittens and ___ ___'

Answer: my coat

Written by Liam Gallagher, Andrew Wyatt and Greg Kurstin, 'Halo' is a song on Liam's album 'Why Me? Why Not?' and is about his fiancée and manager, Debbie Gwyther. It acknowledges how much she means to him personally and professionally.

Liam and Debbie began their relationship in 2013 and he has often credited her with inspiring and helping him to make a success as a solo artist after the breakup of his second group, Beady Eye, in 2014. One instance of this was in an interview he gave to the newspaper the 'London Evening Standard' on the 24th of May 2017 in which he referred to her as his 'savioiur'.
6. In the song 'Why Me? Why Not.' what should the person addressed fill? 'Count the love you got Fill ___ ___ with why me? Why not?

Answer: your heart

Simon Aldred co-wrote the song 'Why me? Why Not.' with Liam Gallagher. Liam's album 'Why me? Why Not.' was released in the UK on the 20th of September 2019, reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and was accounted the fastest-selling album of 2019 in the UK. It also reached the top ten in several other countries' album charts and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for selling over a hundred thousand copies.

In an interview with UK station Radio X on the 5th of November 2019 Liam explained the origin of the title. Some twenty years previously he had bought a picture drawn by John Lennon at an art exhibition. John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, then sent him another drawing and the two were entitled 'Why Me?' and 'Why Not?'
7. The singer's mama wanted him to do what in 'Be Still'? 'My mama said, "___ ___ Though you're down, you're gonna rise again"'

Answer: keep moving

'Be Still' is the seventh song on Liam Gallagher's second studio album 'Why me? Why Not.'. The song was co-written by Andrew Wyatt, Greg Kurstin and Liam Gallagher and, like some other songs on the album, is about someone looking back on events in their life.

As there are ten questions in this quiz and eleven songs on the album, one song could not be included in the questions. The song omitted through 'bad luck of the draw' is the eighth on the album and is entitled 'Alright Now'. It was written by Liam Gallagher, Andrew Wyatt and Damon McMahon and is about someone's experiences from they first went to Los Angeles onwards.
8. Where is the rain blowing in the song 'Meadow'? 'The rain is blowing at ___ ___ And you've come so many miles'

Answer: your window

Liam Gallagher, Andrew Wyatt and Greg Kurstin co-wrote the song 'Meadow' for Liam's second studio album, 'Why me? Why Not.'. On the 28th of November 2019 at the London O2 Arena Liam gave a live acoustic concert and sang 'Meadow' as well as several other songs from this album and earlier songs first recorded by the group Oasis, of which he had been part.

On the 31st of January 2020 the UK music newspaper 'New Musical Express' ('NME') reported the announcement of the release of an EP (Extended Play), 'Acoustic Sessions', which included seven songs from the concert. These were 'Meadow', 'Once', 'Now That I've Found You' and 'Alright Now' from 'Why me? Why Not.' and three Oasis songs. The EP also included an eighth song - the original demo version of 'Once' - and rose to number 24 in the UK Album Chart.

It came out in the UK on the 27th of June 2019 and, according to its chart positions, proved more popular in Scotland then in other parts of the UK but overall was not a major success.

The album 'Why Me? Why Not.' followed on from his first solo one, 'As You Were' (2017), and both reached number one in the UK Albums Chart. 'Wall of Glass' was a track on the earlier album and was nominated for Best Track in the 2017 Awards organised by the music magazine 'Q'. Also in 2017 Liam himself was nominated for, and won, both the Q Award for Best Live Act and the GQ Award for Best Rock n Roll Star of the Year.

In 2019 he was nominated for a number of other awards and won some of them. He was nominated for Best Rock and for Rock Icon in the MTV Europe Music Awards and won the latter category. In 2020 he was again nominated in the Best Rock category while in 2019 he was nominated for, and won, Best UK Artist in the Scottish Music Awards.
