Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following outlaws called himself "Mr. Howard"?

Answer: Jesse James

A popular song tells of how "that dirty little coward went and shot poor Mr. Howard", referring to Robert Ford's shooting of Jesse James (who was using the name of Howard at the time).
2. Which of these infamous men often used the alias of "Alex Hidell"?

Answer: Lee Harvey Oswald

Oswald also used the alias of O.H. Lee (which is, of course, what you get if you 'reverse' his name).
3. The name "Arthur Flegenheimer" doesn't seem to fit a notorious gangster. By what name was this criminal known?

Answer: Dutch Schultz

All four had colorful nicknames, but this one belonged to Schultz.
4. Samuel Clemens was known as Mark Twain. To what does "Mark Twain" refer?

Answer: Nautical term

Clemens took the name from a navigational term that was used on the Mississippi river.
5. Jim Garrison tried to prove during the investigation of the assassination of JFK that a man named Clay Shaw was also known by what other name?

Answer: Clay Bertrand

Garrison brought Clay Shaw to trial and tried to prove that Clay Shaw and Clay Bertrand were one and the same. He didn't succeed.
6. Ruby Stevens changed her name and went into show business. By what name was she known during her movie career?

Answer: Barbara Stanwyck

Actuually, Ruby Stevens sounds (to me) like an acting name. Crawford was originally Lucille La Seur.

All of the choices are pen names for writers, but Munro was the man behind the short stories of Saki.

Answer: Parker

Butch was Robert Leroy Parker.
