Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Patty Duke played lookalike cousins on "The Patty Duke Show" in the 1960s. What were the cousins' names?

Answer: Patty and Cathy Lane

Patty's real name is Anna Marie Duke. She wrote a book titled "Call Me Anna". She played Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker" in 1962, then went on to play the teacher Anne Sullivan in the same show in 1979 to Melissa Gilbert's Helen. She also played Neely O'Hara in "Valley of the Dolls" in 1967.
2. This country singer really hit it big in the 1990s with "She's in Love with the Boy". She also sang "How Do I Live?" from the movie "Con Air".

Answer: Trisha Yearwood

Born Patricia Lynn Yearwood in Georgia in 1964, she is one of my favorite singers. In 2004 she was in a relationship with Garth Brooks. Her CD "Songbook: A Collection of Hits" is one of my favorites. Patsy Cline died in 1963, Patti Lupone played Evita on Broadway, and while Patty Loveless has had several hits, "She's in Love with the Boy" isn't one of them.
3. Patricia Cornwell is a former police reporter whose first book was "A Time for Remembering" about her friend Ruth Bell Graham who is Billy Graham's wife. She's gone on to write a series of forensic mysteries with the heroine Kay Scarpetta. She has written a book in which she feels she's solved a long unresolved murder mystery that completely defeated detectives at the time it happened. What is the subject of the book?

Answer: Jack the Ripper

She was born Patricia Carroll Daniels in Florida in 1956. She used to work in the Virginia medical examiner's office and morgue. She helped establish the Virginia Institute of Forensic Science and Medicine. I figure that's why her Kay Scarpetta novels have such attention to detail. I highly recommend them.

Her book about Jack the Ripper is called "Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper, Case Closed".
4. This woman was a First Daughter who married in the Rose Garden of the White House. It was the first outdoor ceremony at the White House.

Answer: Tricia Nixon

She became Mrs. Edward Cox on June 12, 1971. As for the others on the list, while I'm sure there are people with those names, they weren't First Children.
5. This actress played the long-suffering wife of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor, and was mother of three boys.

Answer: Patricia Richardson

Born in 1951 in Maryland, Patricia was a Navy dependent who moved around a lot. I really liked "Home Improvement". While some of the stunts Tim pulled were questionable and a little far-fetched, I thought that the show really captured what a great relationship he and Jill had.
6. Another actress who plays a long-suffering wife, this time of a sports-writer with three children at home. Her in-laws live across the street and are always popping in. What is the name of this actress?

Answer: Patricia Heaton

She was born in 1958 in Ohio. She is the mother of four sons in real life. in "Everybody Loves Raymond", Debra can be a bit of a harpy at times, but I think if my in-laws pulled some of the stuff that hers do, I'd be harpy-ish too, to say the least. Since then she has made commercials for Jewell/Albertson's grocery stores.
7. This actress comes from an acting family. Her grandfather created the character of Charley Weaver in the 1960's. He was on Hollywood Squares for several years. Her sister is an actress who had a song written for her by the band Toto. Her brother is an actor who is married to a very popular "friend".

8. Patsy Cline had hits with "Crazy", "I Go Walking" and "I Fall to Pieces". Tragically, her beautiful, timeless voice was silenced in a plane crash in Tennessee. What year was that?

9. Patty Hearst was born into privilege and was kidnapped by a radical group. While held captive, she took part in an armed robbery of a bank, and changed her name to Tania. What was the name of the group that kidnapped her?

Answer: Symbionese Liberation Army

Patricia Campbell Hearst was born in 1954 in California. She was kidnapped in 1974 and held captive for 19 months. After she and members of the group were arrested, she was convicted of the bank heist. She served nearly 2 years of a 35 year sentence in prison, then had her sentence commuted by President Carter.

She suffered from Stockholm Syndrome which causes captives to become sympathetic to their captors. She is the granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, the newspaper publishing magnate.
10. This soulful singer is considered one of VH1's greatest women of rock and roll. "Lady Marmalade" is one of her biggest hits.

11. Now, for the ones that you might not know are Patricias. She's the daughter of a famous ventriloquist and entertainer. She had a hit TV show for 10 years in the 1980s and 1990s playing a television news journalist. Which of these women has Patricia as one of her names?

Prince Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre Grimaldi was born in 1958 and Princess Stephanie Marie Elisabeth Grimaldi was born in 1965. Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward Windsor is the son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip. Princess Grace was tragically killed in a car accident in 1982.
14. This young actress was in a cheerleader movie with Kirsten Dunst, she slayed with Buffy, and was able to relive her day to help people in "Tru Calling".

Answer: Eliza Dushku

Eliza Patricia Dushku was born in 1980 in Boston. She played the "anti-cheerleader" in "Bring It On", which I liked surprisingly well. She was Faith in "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer".
15. Fannie Flagg is the southern author/actress who wrote "Steel Magnolias" and was a staple on 1970s game shows such as "Password" and "Match Game". What part of the previous sentence is incorrect?

Answer: That Fannie Flagg wrote "Steel Magnolias". Fannie Flagg wrote "Fried Green Tomatoes".

Fannie Flagg was born Patricia Neal in Alabama in 1944. I remember she was one of my favorites on the game shows I'd watch as a child, and then when I saw "Fried Green Tomatoes", I couldn't believe it was the same person. Seriously though, how many Fannie Flaggs could there be? "Steel Magnolias" was written by Robert Harling. I hope you enjoyed this quiz. I got most of my information from IMDb.com.
