Although the quote is widely attributed to Agatha Christie, she did not say it. Christie was very conscious about the large age gap between her and her second husband Max Mallowan, who was fourteen years her junior. The quote, instead, was actually something Mallowan said in regards to his marriage to Christie and has been commonly misattributed to her ever since.

Groucho Marx (1890-1977) was an American comic actor best known for being part of the Marx Brothers. Groucho famously donned horn-rimmed glasses, a mustache, bushy eyebrows, and was often seen chomping on a cigar. He was also known for his quick wit, one-liners, and impeccable delivery.

Oscar Wilde was an Irish author who penned such infamous works as "The Picture of Dorian Grey" and "The Importance of Being Ernest". In 1895, he imprisoned for committing homosexual acts and "gross indecency". While imprisoned, he wrote "De Profundis", but his jail time caused him to go bankrupt.

After his release, he relocated to France where he died a few years later from meningitis stemming from his time in prison where his health declined.

Tallulah Bankhead (1902-1968) was an American actress best known for her appearance in Alfred Hitchcock's "Lifeboat". Bankhead was outspoken about her sexual exploits and about sex in general. She nearly died in 1933 during a hysterectomy surgery necessitated by the rapid spread of venereal disease throughout her body, and later declared that she learned nothing from the experience.
