When Ramirez was 20 years old, he left El Paso.

While in California, he was arrested yet again for grand theft auto, but somehow he wasn't charged with the crime. What drove Ramirez to start killing? Considering that when he was a young, his mother sent him to Sunday School to learn the Bible. Ramirez, the youngest of seven children, did learn the Bible, but only in reverse. During this time, the police were drowning in calls, and each call said that Ramirez was running through the neighborhood. The police knew that a whole community couldn't be wrong, so they sent squads to the neighborhood. When Ramirez made a wrong turn onto Hubbard Street, he was cornered and beaten by the heroes of Hubbard Street.
