Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. VEE was the first woman, when she took a forbidden bite she and her husband in Eden were forced to take flight. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Eve

Eve, of course is the correct answer. After being created by God, Genesis 3:20 states Adam, the world's first man, called her Eve as "she would become the mother of all the living." According to Scripture, Eve was convinced by a serpent to eat forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden and, afterwards, Adam did likewise. As a result, they were driven out of Eden.

Scripture tells of Adam and Eve being the parents of Cain, Abel and Seth as well as an unstated number of other sons and daughters.
2. HJAON was extremely stubborn and from God he tried to run. He quickly changed his ways when a fish made life no fun. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Jonah

Correctly unscramble the letters and you come up with 'Jonah'. After receiving divine instructions to go to Nineveh to preach a message of repentance, Jonah tried to run from God by boarding a ship bound for Tarshish. Shortly afterwards, the ship ended up being battered by a severe storm and the crew members threw Jonah overboard because they were of the opinion he caused the storm.

After being tossed overboard, Scripture tells of a gigantic fish swallowing Jonah and he ended up spending three days and three nights in its stomach.

After the fish regurgitated Jonah onto dry land, he followed God's instructions and headed to Nineveh to preach to the people. According to notes in the NKJV Study Bible, Nineveh was in modern day Iraq.
3. SMEOS led the Israelites on a 40-year trip from Egypt to Canaan with more than one slip. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Moses

Moses led the Israelites on a forty-year-long journey from Egypt to Canaan, known as the Promised Land. He was assisted by his brother Aaron and sister Miriam. However, Moses was denied the privilege of leading the Israelites into Canaan as he had disobeyed God's word along the way. The honor of leading the Israelites into Canaan went to Joshua.

For Moses, the expedition from Egypt to Canaan was fraught with a number of setbacks and even a full-scale rebellion against his leadership. This, even though Scripture tells of God performing a wide variety of miracles for the Israelites during the journey to Canaan.
4. HEALJI was a prophet of God who battled Baal believers as he was totally convinced they were giant deceivers. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Elijah

Elijah was a prophet of God whose exploits are documented in 1 Kings and 2 Kings. One of his major accomplishments involved defeating four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal in a showdown on Mount Carmel. In the showdown, the false prophets called on Baal to ignite a sacrificial offering on the mountain while Elijah called upon God.

The showdown is documented in 1 Kings 18:16-48 with Elijah being the clear winner.
5. HNJO was a disciple along with his brother. They both served Christ and definitely no other. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: John

John is the correct answer. He was one of the original Twelve Disciples along with his brother James. John is traditionally credited with writing five books in the New Testament: The Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and Revelation. Some scholars disagree as to whether these were all from the pen of the same John.

Going by tradition, John was the only disciple who was not executed for his belief in a resurrected Jesus Christ. In his later years, he was exiled to the island of Patmos where he wrote Revelation, the final book of the New Testament.
6. ALPU was a star apostle, from Tarsus he did come; he was a powerful force for Christ, and then some. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Paul

Unscramble the letters correctly and you get 'Paul', the apostle to the Gentiles. He was a native of Tarsus and originally a Pharisee. In his younger years, Paul was known for his relentless persecution of Christians but things changed radically when he had a dramatic encounter with Jesus Christ. Acts 9 tells of Jesus appearing to Paul while he was travelling on the road to Damascus for the purpose of persecuting Christians. Scripture states that when Paul saw Jesus there was such a brilliant light that he was blinded for three days.

After his conversion to Christianity, Paul became an unstoppable force for Christ.
7. SUTTI was a church worker on the island of Crete, winning souls to Christ was not an easy feat. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Titus

Unscramble the letters correctly and you get the name 'Titus'. He was a worker in the early church serving on the island of Crete, as per Titus 1:5. The name Titus can be also found multiple times in 2 Corinthians as well as in Galatians and 2 Timothy. In Titus 1:4, Paul describes Titus as "a true son in our common faith".
8. KLUE was a doctor working behind the scenes, he also preached the Gospel using whatever means. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Luke

Luke is described by Paul as the "beloved physician" in Colossians 4:14. However, Luke was much more than a physician. He was the writer of the Gospel of Luke as well as the Book of Acts, and was a tireless and loyal worker in the early church.

Many people know Luke was a doctor and the writer of two New Testament books, but they are often surprised to find out he was also a worker in the early church. It's just that Luke was extremely low key when it came to recording his involvement in church work. When Luke was involved in an endeavor in the early church, he simply states in Acts "we" did this, or "we" did that.

Luke was faithful to Paul to the very end. In 2 Timothy 4:11, with execution drawing near, Paul tells of being an abandoned apostle, stating "only Luke is with me".
9. TTMHEWA was a tax collector, the first Gospel he did pen, and after the resurrection serving Christ was his yen. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Matthew

Unscramble the letters correctly and you get 'Matthew', a tax collector and one of the original Twelve Disciples. Matthew was also known as Levi and after accepting Christ's invitation to follow Him, he hosted a gala banquet at his house attended by Jesus, tax collectors and "sinners".

The Pharisees, however, were livid Jesus would do such a thing. In His response, Jesus told them, "I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
10. SOUNMEIS was a slave who ran away to Rome and after meeting with Paul, he now calls heaven home. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Onesimus

Onesimus was a slave who ran away from his master Philemon in Colosse. When Onesimus made his escape to Rome he met up with Paul, an old friend of Philemon. Scripture tells of Paul converting Onesimus to Christianity and then writing a heartfelt letter to Philemon asking him to accept Onesimus back into his fold as an equal in Christ. That letter has become known as the Book of Philemon in the New Testament.

It is one of thirteen books Paul is credited with writing.
