1. Which of the following prehistoric creatures is a dinosaur?

Answer: Yangchuanosaurus

Shonisaurus was an ichthyosaur, Deinosuchus was a crocodilian and Archelon was a turtle.
2. The fossils of which of the following animals were found in China?

Answer: Yangchuanosaurus

Yangchuanosaurus was found in China, while the other three were found in North America.
3. Which of these is not a close relative of Ty-Rex?

Answer: Herrerasaurus

The "family" of Ty-Rex included large carnosaurs, which lived in the Cretaceous period. Herrerasaurus was also a predator, but a very primitive one.
4. Which of the following dinosaurs lived in the Triassic period?

Answer: Coelophysis

The only one who lived in the Triassic period was Coelophysis. All the others roamed in the Jurassic.
5. Which was one of the few Jurassic dinosaurs that starred in "Jurassic Park"?

Answer: Brachiosaurus

Altough the movie was called "Jurassic Park", most of the dinosaurs which appeared in it lived in the Cretaceous period. This is the case of Ty-Rex, Velociraptor and Triceratops.
6. Which of these names means "different lizard"?

Answer: Allosaurus

Ankylosaurus - "stiff lizard"
Apatosaurus - "deceptive lizard"
Alamosaurus - "Alamo lizard"
7. All of these had spikes and spines, but which one was a carnivore?

Answer: Ceratosaurus

Kentrosaurus was a stegosaur which had two large spines that protected his hips. Iguanodon was an ornithopod whose main defenses were provided by his
spiked thumbs. Styracosaurus was a ceratopsid whose main feature was his neck frill protected by six long spikes.

All of them were plant eaters.
8. Did any dinosaurs live in Antarctica?

Answer: Yes

In fact they did live in Antarctica. One of the best known examples is Leaellynasaura.
9. Which of these is thought to have been the smartest dinosaur?

Answer: Troodon

Diplodocus was large but his head was small which tells us that it wasn't that "clever". Pachycephalosaurus had a thick skull, but he used it for other purposes then housing a big brain. As for stegosaurus - well his brain was the size of a walnut.
10. Who is one of the twentieth century's main dinosaur experts?

Answer: Paul Sereno

All of them are fossil hunters, but the incorrect answers refer to three great paleontologists who lived in the nineteenth century.
