Despite only winning one race, Rosberg claimed the championship in 1982, becoming the first Finn to win the championship.

Answer: 1991

Jordan had a successful first year in Formula 1, scoring several points. They also gave Michael Schumacher his first race as a stand in for Bertrand Gachot.

Silverstone hosted the British Grand Prix 1950, which was also the first official Formula 1 Race. It was won by Giuseppe Farina, who would end the year as world champion.
