Answer: James Naismith

James Naismith was born in 1861. He was a football player who then became a teacher. Due to the weather conditions in winter, he saw a need for an indoor game.
Isaac Newton was a physicist and Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th president of the USA. John Piper is fictional.

2. Initially, the 'BASKETBALL' was what object?

Answer: Soccer ball

At the start, the game of basketball used soccer balls. Fruits on the other hand would have burst if being used, Meatball also wouldn't be considered good and balloons hilariously would just leave the players running around or burst without getting a few shots!

3. When basketball first started, the first baskets were made of what?

Answer: Peach baskets

They were made from peach baskets which suited the purpose. At first, the baskets were without holes underneath! (aka the basketball didn't fall through, down to the floor).
As the ball had to be thrown into a basket, it became "basketball".
