The Breeders Cup, also known as The World Thoroughbred Championships, is held every fall (usually in October). It brings champions from all over the world to compete in races like the Classic, the Juvenile, the Mile, and more. These horses are the best of the best.
2. The inaugural Breeders Cup was held at what racetrack?

Answer: Hollywood Park

Every year the races are held at a different track, but the first one in 1984 was at Hollywood because they wanted to have it somewhere with a nice warm climate.
3. Who won the first ever Breeders Cup Classic?

Answer: Wild Again

1984: Slew O Gold came in second, Gate Dancer in third (he ran second but was disqualified to third).
4. What horse, ridden by Mike Smith, won the Breeders Cup Classic in 1997?

Answer: Skip Away

Skip Away broke the record that year, running the 1 1/4 mile race in 1:59.16.
