Answer: Willie Wilson

Wilson came to bat a record 705 times in 1980 for the Kansas City Royals. Samuel reached 701 times in 1984 with Philadelphia.
2. Hoyt Wilhelm retired with 143 wins in his career. How many wins were in relief?

Answer: 124

Only 19 wins were as a starter. When he retired in 1972 he set the record for career wins as a relief pitcher. In 1985, he became the first relief pitcher elected to the Hall of Fame, and the first pitcher inducted with fewer than 150 career wins.

Answer: Luis Tiant

Hornsby's number 3 position was just a decimal point ahead of Bill Terry who hit .401 in 1930 with the NY Giants. Hornsby's totals are .424, .403, and .401.

Don Newcombe of the Dodgers was known as the 'Whale'. Johnny Martin's nickname was Pepper.

Answer: Everett Scott

Scott is number three with 1,307 consecutive games played, 1,325 games behind Ripken. Scott did this all from June 1916 through May 1925. Garvey was fourth on the list with 1,207 consecutive games.
