The NFL Champion Packers went 12-2 and met the AFL Champion Chiefs who went 11-2-1. The Packers defeated the Chiefs 35-10. Packer quarterback Bart Starr was the MVP for his passing of 250 yards and throwing three touchdowns.

Answer: San Francisco 49ers

Played in New Orleans in 1990, Super Bowl XXIV saw the 49ers blowout the Broncos 55-10 behind the arm of MVP Joe Montana. The Dallas Cowboys were the second team to score 50 in a game when they put the Bills down three seasons later, 52-17.
3. Which speedster was the first to rush for over 200 yards in the big game?

Answer: Timmy Smith

Smith was a rookie running back for the Redskins in the 1987 season. Super Bowl XXII which pitted the Redskins against the Broncos was a slugfest. After John Elway and the Broncos opened up a 10-0 lead, the Redskins scored 42 unanswered points for a 42-10 victory. Smith rushed for 204 yards, but Washington quarterback Doug Williams was still voted the MVP.
4. Which team was the first to play in a Super Bowl and not bother scoring a single touchdown?

Answer: Miami Dolphins

Played in New Orleans, the Dolphins met the Dallas Cowboy defense in Super Bowl VI and went home after a 24-3 loss. Ironically, it all started with the fumble of Dolphin running back Larry Csonka. After going through the entire 1971 season without a fumble, he coughed the ball up which led to Dallas' first lead of 3-0. Miami never rebounded after that. Dallas quarterback Roger Staubach was the MVP after leading the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl win.

Answer: Bud Grant

Grant was at the helm of the Minnesota Vikings. He lost Super Bowl IV to the Chiefs, VIII to the Dolphins, IX to the Steelers, and Super Bowl XI to the Raiders. Pittsburgh Steeler head coach Chuck Noll was the first to win four Super Bowls. He and the Steelers won four Super Bowls as a result of their seasons in the 1970s.
6. Who was the first quarterback to throw for 400 yards in a Super Bowl?

Answer: Kurt Warner

It happened in the 23-16 Super Bowl XXXIV win over the Titans in January 2000. Ironically, Warner was the Rams' backup quarterback in the preseason until Trent Green went down with injuries. He led the team to a 13-3 season. In Super Bowl XXXIV, Kurt went 24 of 45 for 414 yards and two touchdowns. He was the MVP of the game.

Super Bowl XXXI saw Reggie White and the Green Bay Packers defeat the Patriots 35-21. The MVP of the game was Desmond Howard who stole the show. In addition to his 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, he totaled 244 return yards in the game which was a Super Bowl record also.

Their next victim was the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII after the 1988 season. The following Super Bowl in XXIV, the 49ers over the Broncos 55-10. Their fifth win came in the 1995 game, Super XXIX against the Chargers.

Answer: Rich Gannon

In January 2003 at Super Bowl XXXVII, the Oakland Raiders were embarrassed by Gannon's performance. After throwing 10 in the entire regular season, he threw five in this big game. The Buccaneers beat them 48-21. The MVP of the game was free safety Dexter Jackson for his two interceptions.
10. Super Bowl XLII in 2008 saw the New York Giants defeat the New England Patriots. Who was the Super Bowl MVP?

Answer: Eli Manning

Eli went 19 of 34 for 255 yards in the 17-14 win. It was the Giants' fourth Super Bowl appearance and their third win. Their only loss was to the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV, 34-7.
