Answer: Ian Al-Harazi realized the footage of Heller's death was cloned.

As the drones were being dumped into the English Channel, Ian Al-Harazi was reviewing the footage of the drone strike that allegedly killed President Heller. He noticed that Heller looked away shortly before the strike and then noticed that the image repeated a second later.

He realized that the footage was cloned and later found footage of Heller outside of the stadium with Jack Bauer after the strike. All but one of the drones had been ditched by the time they realized that Heller was still alive. You would think they had checked the footage BEFORE crashing the drones, but this is "24" - we can't have that kind of logic!

Answer: Waterloo Station

Ian Al-Harazi asked his mother if she wanted to go after President Heller with the remaining drone, but she told him that she wanted Heller alive so that he could see what his deception cost. She decided to target Waterloo Station which was packed with people trying to evacuate London.

Answer: Jack Bauer tossed them out a window.

Defenestration! Jack Bauer repelled from the roof top to the window of their office and was seen by Ian Al-Harazi, who shot out the window. When Ian looked out to see what happened to Bauer, Bauer grabbed him and tossed him to his death. Bauer then shot and handcuffed Margot Al-Harazi, and after preventing the drone from hitting its target, he tossed her out the window too.

Answer: In the Thames

After handcuffing Margot Al-Harazi, Jack Bauer had to deal with the missile fired from the last drone. The missile launched automatically, and there was thirty seconds before it hit its target. He was on the line with Chloe O'Brian, and she told him he could redirect it. At the last second, he steered it away from its target and into the Thames.

Answer: Navarro had been the assassin's handler when he worked for the CIA.

The assassin had no identification on him and no labels on his clothes. Kate Morgan ran his fingerprints and found out that his identity was locked with a code that meant that he was a covert operative. Jack Bauer had a contact at the CIA find out who the man was, and he discovered he was an assassin who had four handlers, one of which was Steve Navarro.

When Bauer went to find Navarro, he discovered that Navarro was gone and so was the override device, which it had been discovered, could access any defense system.

Answer: To expose vulnerabilities in weapons systems

Adrian Cross told Chloe O'Brian that Derrick Yates had stolen the device and modified it for the drone system so that Yates could sell it. Cross said that he had intended to use the device to save lives by breaking into the world's weapons arsenals to expose their vulnerability. By sharing that information with the world, it would make "technological warfare obsolete". Cross admitted to O'Brian that he was working with Steve Navarro and that he had sold information provided by Navarro to the Chinese to finance the Open Cell operation. O'Brian reluctantly agreed to help him but later tried to escape with the device before being ordered back into the car by Cross.

Answer: Kate Morgan put a gun to his head.

Jack Bauer originally tried to interrogate Steve Navarro but was stopped by Temporary Station Chief Erik Ritter after Bauer started beating Navarro up. After Navarro was taken to the infirmary, Kate Morgan burst in and put a gun to his head while Bauer pulled a gun on Morgan to prevent her from killing Navarro. Turns out it was a ploy - Bauer and Morgan were playing bad cop, baddest cop. Navarro fell for it - he really thought Morgan was going to kill him, so he told them he had put a tracker on the override device, and he gave them the code.

Answer: The staff were dead or dying.

When they opened the doors to the room where the Open Cell crew had set up, they found most of the staff dead on the floor. Chloe O'Brian ran to one of the team members who was tied up and badly beaten but still alive. Adrian Cross told her that they had to go, but then the Chinese agents that Cross had been working with entered the room. Cross thought they were with the Chinese government, but O'Brian told him that the man he was dealing with, Cheng, was a former Chinese Intelligence agent who was arrested by the Chinese government and was supposed to be in prison. O'Brian knew him from when he worked at the Chinese Embassy in Los Angeles. Cheng was the one who kidnapped and tortured Jack Bauer at the end of Day Five and did the same to Audrey Heller (now Boudreau) when she went to look for Bauer.

Answer: The Russians

Audrey Boudreau was furious with her husband for sending her father, President Heller, to his presumed death without telling her. She apologized, but they fought over her relationship with Jack Bauer. After she stormed out, Mark Boudreau called the Russian Minister and told him how to find Bauer. He gave them the transmission code to the CIA encrypted communications link. When Mark Boudreau realized that Bauer was leading the operation to recover the override device, he had second thoughts and desperately tried to get the Russians to call off their operation.

Bauer heard the men in the truck speaking in Russian and knew that the crash was deliberate. He and Kate Morgan shot the two men in the truck, and then more Russians arrived at the scene with guns blaring.

Answer: A Chinese aircraft carrier

Rogue Chinese agent Cheng had discovered that the override device had been modified, so he ordered Chloe O'Brian to fix it, and he shot Adrian Cross in the leg to motivate her. O'Brian tried to insert a virus into the override device, but one of Cheng's men discovered it and deleted it. Cheng told Cross he wasn't needed anymore and executed him.

Then, as O'Brian watched, Cheng ordered one of his men to send a message to an American nuclear sub, telling the sub commander to sink the Chinese aircraft carrier.

The commander confirmed the tactical action message using the authorization code and ordered the launch of two torpedoes.
