Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Rudy, Theo, Olivia, and Elvin?

Answer: The Cosby Show

Rudy Huxtable, played by Keshia Knight Pulliam, was the youngest of the Huxtable children. Theo Huxtable, played by Malcolm-Jamal Warner, was the only male of the Huxtable children. Of course, Olivia and Elvin weren't Huxtables. Olivia was the step-daughter of Denise Huxtable and Elvin was Sondra Huxtable's boyfriend who eventually became her husband.
2. Marcy, Bud, and Jefferson?

Answer: Married...With Children

This series aired for 10 years from 1987-1997. Jefferson was Marcy's second husband on the show. Her first was Steve Rhoades. When she married Jefferson, her name became Marcy D'Arcy! Bud, of course, was a Bundy! I'm sure you remember Al, Peggy, and Kelly. How could anyone who's ever watched this show forget the Bundys? :-)
3. Angela, Sam, and Mona?

Answer: Who's The Boss?

This show aired from 1984-1992. My favorite scenes were those with Mona. She always made me laugh. She was Angela's man-crazed mom! She was played by Katherine Helmond who, by the way, also starred in the sitcom "Coach."
4. Andy, Alex, and Skippy?

Answer: Family Ties

Who could forget Alex P. Keaton? Definitely not me! He was too funny. Andy was the baby of the Keaton family and joined the show in its 4th year. Skippy was the Keatons neighbor who had an infatuation with Mallory.
5. Helen, Janet, and Larry?

Answer: Three's Company

Helen was Mr. Roper's wife. He called her by her name most of the time, but to Jack, Chrissy, and Janet, she was known as Mrs. Roper. Larry was their neighbor who seemed to have a new date almost every night.
6. Rachel, Eddie, Myrtle, Waldo, and Myra?

Answer: Family Matters

The show with the "nerd" (Steve Urkel) of course! One of my favorite episodes was when Steve tells Laura, "There's a rumor going around that I'm a nerd!" Makes me laugh every time. And then, of course, Urkel's famous saying, "Did I do that?" Family Matters was on the ABC Network from 1989-1997.

Then, they moved to the CBS Network from 1997-1998, lasting only about another 10 months.
7. Gloria, Edith, and Michael?

Answer: All In The Family

Oh yes, good ol' Archie Bunker. He was so funny. One just couldn't help but love Archie! I didn't watch this show during its airing time which was from 1971-1979. I was too young. But, I love watching the re-runs of it today. I'm thankful for re-runs, I'd sure have missed out on some good old comedy if it weren't for those re-runs!
8. Buddy, Jamie, and Lillian?

Answer: Charles In Charge

This show was on from 1984-1990. It was about Charles, a college student, who moves in with a family to help the mom out with cleaning and taking care of the children while she works and the dad's away in the military. Jamie is one of the children who is played by Nicole Eggert. Buddy is Charles' best friend who is played by Willie Aames who also starred in the show "Eight is Enough" as Tommy Bradford. Lillian is played by Ellen Travolta and is Charles' mom in the show.
9. Woody, Carla, and Cliff?

Answer: Cheers

This is the comedy show to watch where everybody knows your name. I remember hearing once that the idea for this show came from an actual underground bar with similarities to the show. Woody worked as a bartender and was played by Woody Harrelson of course. Carla was the sassy waitress played by Rhea Perlman and Cliff was always dressed in his work uniform as a mailman.

He was played by John Ratzenberger.
10. Uncle Phil, Geoffrey, Hilary and Will?

Answer: The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air

Will Smith, played by Will Smith, moves from Philly to live with his rich relatives in Bel-Air. This show was on for 6 years from 1990-1996. Uncle Phil is played by James Avery. Geoffrey is the rich family's butler who is played by Joseph Marcell. I think some of the most comical scenes in the show are due to him. Hilary is played by Karyn Parsons and she portrays the air-headed rich girl.
11. Max, Overton, and Synclaire?

Answer: Living Single

I love this show. Kyle and Max are always trading insults and they can be really funny sometimes. Overton, also known as Obie, is Synclaire's love interest. Queen Latifah stars in this show as Khadijah James. Kim Fields, who also played 'Tootie' in "The Facts of Life", also stars in this comedy show as the conceited Regine Hunter.
12. Gina, Pam, and Sheneneh?

Answer: Martin

"Martin" was the comedy show that starred the funny Martin Lawrence. He played a variety of characters but Sheneneh was my favorite. She lived across the hall from Martin and Gina, and was always causing some sort of trouble. Martin was always insulting Gina's friend Pam. One of my favorite scenes is when he tells Pam she better do something with her breath, and she tries sniffing her own breath and runs out of the apartment in embarrassment after doing so.
13. Blair, Tootie, and Mrs. Garrett?

Answer: The Facts Of Life

"The Facts of Life" was one of my favorite childhood shows. It aired from 1979-1988 and was about a group of girls in a boarding school.
14. Mike, Carol, and Ben?

Answer: Growing Pains

"Growing Pains" was all about the Seaver family. Mike Seaver was the oldest of the children, played by Kirk Cameron. Carol Seaver was the middle child, played by Tracey Gold. And Ben Seaver was the youngest for awhile until little Chrissy Seaver came along in 1988. He was played by Jeremy Miller.
15. Lenny, Squiggy, and Shirley?

Answer: None Of These

You would see these characters on "Laverne and Shirley." Laverne was played by Penny Marshall and Shirley was played by Cindy Williams. A really good show about the adventures of 2 women roommates who are the best of friends. Lenny and Squiggy are their goofy neighbors who have an interest in them but are good friends as well.
16. Al, Wilson, Jill, and Randy?

Answer: Home Improvement

Al Borland is played by Richard Karn and he's Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor's best friend. Jill is Tim's wife and Randy is the middle child of their three boys. Wilson is their neighbor that Tim seeks advice from often over the fence where they never show Wilson's mouth.
17. Stan, Sophia, Dorothy, and Miles?

Answer: The Golden Girls

"The Golden Girls" aired from 1985-1992. Stan was Dorothy's ex-husband that always drove her crazy. Sophia who is played by Estelle Getty is Dorothy's mother and, in my opinion, is the one who makes this show a true comedy. Miles appeared on the show for about two years as Rose's love interest.
18. Whitley, Dwayne, Jaleesa, and Ron?

Answer: A Different World

"A Different World" was a comedy about a group of black students and their struggles of making it through college. It was on for 6 years from 1987-1993. Whitley is the stuck-up rich girl who is played by Jasmine Guy. Dwayne has always liked Whitley and ends up marrying her.

He is played by Kadeem Hardison. Ron is Dwayne's best friend and is played by Darryl M. Bell. Jaleesa is played by Dawnn Lewis and is involved with the college coach for awhile who is played by Sinbad. They even almost got married.
19. Hayden, Christine, and Luther?

Answer: Coach

Coach Hayden Fox is played by Craig T. Nelson. He coaches football and can't seem to get enough of it. Christine is his long time girlfriend who eventually becomes his wife. She is played by Shelley Fabares. Luther is played by Jerry Van Dyke and is Hayden's assistant coach as well as his best friend.
20. Lamont, Grady, Fred, and Esther?

Answer: Sanford And Son

"Sanford And Son" is one of those shows I can't find repeats of on TV anymore. I miss this show, it was always a favorite of mine. (Update: As of 1/2003, "Sanford And Son" re-runs can now be seen on TV Land Mon.-Fri. at 9:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time). Redd Foxx played Fred Sanford, owner of a junk yard business. Lamont was his son who lived with him and was played by Demond Wilson. Grady, played by Whitman Mayo, was Fred's best friend. Esther, played by LaWanda Page, was Fred's sister-in-law whom he always traded insults with. Fred and Esther together provided some of the best comical scenes for this show.
21. Vinton, Naomi, Thelma, and Iola?

Answer: Mama's Family

"Mama's Family" first aired in 1983 and had its last episode in 1990. Re-runs of this show can usually be found on the television station TBS. Vinton is 'Mama's' son and Naomi is his wife. Thelma is 'Mama' and is played by Vicki Lawrence. Iola is Thelma's best friend and neighbor and she is played by Beverly Archer.
22. J.J., Flo, Wilona, and Penny?

Answer: Good Times

J.J. is played by the funny Jimmie Walker. One of my favorite J.J. quotes is "I'm slim, black, and Dyn-o-mite!" "Good Times" is based on a poor black family and the hardships that sometimes accompany the ghetto life. It sounds like a sad story but it's a really funny show. Flo, also known as Florida, is J.J.'s mom who is often the strong soul of the family and Esther Rolle plays her. Wilona is the gossipy neighbor as well as Flo's best friend. Penny is Wilona's adopted daughter and is played by the young Janet Jackson.
23. Stephanie, Becky, Jesse, and Danny?

Answer: Full House

"Full House" was set in San Francisco and was on from 1987-1995. It was about a father raising his three daughters after the death of their mother. Danny was the father and he's played by Bob Saget. Jesse was the brother of Danny's deceased wife; therefore, making him Danny's brother-in-law and uncle to the girls.

He is played by John Stamos. Jesse gets involved with Becky (played by Lori Loughlin) and eventually marries her. Stephanie is the middle daughter and is played by Jodie Sweetin. My favorite saying of Stephanie's is "How rude!"
24. Ira, Paul, and Jamie?

Answer: Mad About You

"Mad About You" aired from 1992-1999 and was a comedy about a recently married couple. Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt played Paul and Jamie Buchman, the recently married couple. Ira played Paul's cousin and started on the show in 1993 and stayed on until its final season in 1999.
25. The Mertzs and The Ricardos?

Answer: I Love Lucy

"I Love Lucy" is my absolute favorite comedy show of all-time. It was on from 1951-1957. You can usually always find repeats of this show on various TV channels. I think "Lucy" was the queen of comedy. I just love her! (Source of info for this quiz: The Internet Movie Database-IMDb).
