Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 1988, Eddie made a doll that looked like which 'Candle Cove' character?

Answer: Pirate Percy

In 1988, Mike and Jessica spent time together at the Painter household. Jess asked about the other kids and Mike, knowing the truth, had to divert her attention from the creepy goings-on in town involving his little brother. He shows Jess a doll of Pirate Percy that Eddie made the other night before 'Candle Cove' comes on the TV.
In the present day, Mike asks Lily how she got to Iron Hill, so far away from their New York home. She doesn't seem to know where she is, and Marla suggests that he put her to bed to let her rest.
2. Mike's wife is in which city on a business trip?

Answer: Seattle

At the hospital, Jessica walks her son, Dane, down the halls and they pass by a wall of children's drawings. Almost all of them depict images from 'Candle Cove'. They head to Katie's room for a visit and the two kids make their apologies before Jess notices that Dane is missing a tooth. As they leave, they don't notice the tooth in Katie's hand. She smiles as they depart.
Mike calls his wife, Erika, who is in Seattle on business, to let her know that Lily is with him. She says she'll be on the next flight.
In the Iron Hill jail, Jess visits Gary's cell. He urges her to go home, grab their gun, and keep it on her at all times just in case. When she leaves, she gets a call from Mike. He needs a favour.
3. Where is Eddie's 'Candle Cove' doll hidden?

Answer: Under the piano

Amy discovers that the mushroom gift she received was from one of her colleagues who, in an attempt to put himself out there, tried to score a date with her. She brushes this off since she's deep into Eddie Painter's file. In 1988, Mike and Jess met Eddie out by the abandoned water park. Eddie thought that they were becoming boyfriend and girlfriend back then.

In the present day, Jess heads to the Painter household with spare clothes for Lily. Introductions are made, but it's clear that something is a bit wrong with Mike's daughter.

She tells them that she likes pirates before locating Eddie's Percy Pirate doll under the piano and explaining that she's not Lily.
4. What card game would Mike and Eddie play with each other?

Answer: War

In 1988, Mike and Eddie argued over whether or not they should watch 'Candle Cove', and Mike explained that he didn't like how the show is changing him and getting stronger. On the other side of things, Eddie was disappointed that Mike liked Jessica more than he did his own brother.
Mike plays war with Lily, much like he did with Eddie when they were kids, before she sees a figure in the doorway behind her father. Mike turns around and sees it too before they leave the room.
Amy heads to the school with a list of kids that she needs to speak to. The principal finds that they're all in the same class-- Mrs. Booth's. She'll speak to them after last bell.
5. When Mike asks, does Lily acknowledge that she is actually Eddie?

Answer: Yes

While Mike and Lily play war outside in the field across from the house, Marla and Jess, watching from inside, contemplate whether or not Lily is actually possessed by Eddie. Outside, Mike asks his daughter, or Eddie inside, why they're there. He asks about the show too. Lily says that she remembers what he did-- he killed his brother-- but they know he had to do it. Mike needs to help though, so that they can all be free. Mike asks how he can do it, and she whispers that they'll need Eddie's body. Mike later tells Jess and Marla that he'll pursue the lead alone.
Amy doesn't find the kids she's looking for; Mrs. Booth's class is empty when she gets there. What she finds there though, on one of the desks, is a carving of a man being attacked with cutlasses. Mrs. Booth finds her in the classroom and the two discuss the Painter twins for a brief moment, but it doesn't really help Amy's investigation. As she leaves, Mrs. Booth casts a menacing look after her.
In 1988, Mrs. Booth welcomed Eddie into her household to spend time with Jacob. After Eddie's arrival, 'Candle Cove' commenced its broadcast.
6. How, according to Mike, could someone tell the difference between himself and Eddie?

Answer: Eddie had an extra tooth

Jess tries to convince Mike that he doesn't need to go and investigate Eddie's body to find the answers he's looking for. He says that there's not really another path he needs to take. He remembers back in 1988 when Jessica told him that she was expecting to meet him up at the Crow's Nest.

It was actually Eddie who called her, intending to take her to Candle Cove. As he left to meet his brother, he told Jess that she could always tell the boys apart because Eddie had an extra tooth. When Mike found him waiting, he also found that he was armed with a hook.

The boys fought on the edge of the cliff before Mike got the upper hand, taking the hook and running.
7. Where does Amy find the kids she's searching for in the school?

Answer: In the auditorium

Heading through the halls of the school, Amy has trouble tracking down the kids she's looking for; they seem to be leading her on a chase through the corridors. She reaches a darkened computer lab, not noticing as the monitors turn on to depict Jawbone watching her from the screens.

She finds the four kids in the auditorium pretending to be the characters from 'Candle Cove'. Realizing that Mrs. Booth never told the kids to go to the office and that they have no supervision, she sends them all home. In the hospital, Jess wakes up next to Katie's bed and thinks about the possibilities. Thinking back to Lily, she decides to leave and drives back out to the Painter house.

She decides she's going with Mike.
8. What do Mike and Jess do with Eddie's body?

Answer: The burn it

Amy leaves a restaurant with her dinner and hops into her police vehicle. Turning onto the bridge crossing Iron Hill, she doesn't notice the four children following her.
Jess and Mike end up at the morgue and, using Gary's keys, gain access to the unit containing Eddie's body. They take the skeleton and burn it out in the woods.
At the Painter household, Marla watches as Lily draws a picture. They share in a quick dinner and Marla acknowledges that she's always been very good at drawing. She tucks her granddaughter in and reads to her. The book she chooses: "Treasure Island".
9. Amy, claiming that she should follow her intuition, lets herself into which of these locations?

Answer: Mrs. Booth's house

Mike and Jess return to the Painter household and consider what would have happened had their lives taken other paths, but Jess soon departs, saying she'll see him the next day.
The four children from Mrs. Booth's class continue their trek while Amy spends a bit of time in bed with her colleague. She asks him if he believes in intuition and worries that she's not following her gut. She decides to leave and says she won't be long. In fact, she asks that he stay and wait for her.
Amy's intuition leads her to Mrs. Booth's house where, upon finding that she won't answer the door, she lets herself in.
10. Who do the kids of Mrs. Booth's class attack in the night?

Answer: Jessica

Amy hears a noise coming from Mrs. Booth's basement and shines a light down the stairs. Unholstering her gun she descends and finds a confusing collection of items on the dusty tables below-- mostly teeth. Looking closer at the shelves she sees the puppets of 'Candle Cove' sitting on the shelves. When she turns around, Daphne's body lays on the floor, staring emptily towards her.
Jess returns home to find the children of Mrs. Booth's class inside her house. As the children surround her, they brandish weapons and make it clear that they are ready to use them. Jess pulls out her gun, but the kids are able to move in towards her, chasing her out to the yard where they continue to stab her to death in the kiddy pool. Mrs. Booth watches from inside.
Lily awakes and screams for her mother, but Mike is the one to find her. She acknowledges Mike as her father and asks where she is; Eddie is gone.
