Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In a daydream, Mike and Eddie discuss what literary figure?

Answer: Long John Silver

Mike dreams that he and Eddie are reading "Treasure Island" together in bed. Mike says that Long John Silver was a rogue and a murderer, but Eddie sympathizes; Silver looked out for himself, like they always had to. Mike says that some darkness has latched onto Eddie, but Eddie says that his death only helped him let it out. Mike begs for him to let Lily go, but Eddie transforms into the tooth boy and the daydream ends.
Mike finds himself sitting in the bedroom still, the television now stuck on static, but Lily's voice still emerging from the haze.
2. Gary, considering the recent events, concludes that he will be leaving the police force.

Answer: True

Amy and Gary drive out to the woods on the tip that Francis Booth was seen heading into the forest an hour earlier. They contemplate their futures on the force until the sound of a snapping branch is heard. Heading into the trees they see Mrs. Booth amongst them, but they also find that they're surrounded by children (including Gary's own kids). As Mrs. Booth turns to leave, the kids slowly advance.
Marla tries to convince Mike out of pursuing Eddie, but he says that he has no choice-- he realizes that he needs to be let into Eddie's world to save his daughter and, at some point, Marla may need to listen to him, no matter what he says, to stop Eddie once and for all.
Of course, that's when Erica arrives, looking for their missing daughter.
3. Who follows Mike as he heads out to save his daughter?

Answer: Erica

In the woods, Gary gets closer to his kids, urging them to come home with him. He tells them that their mother has been severely hurt, and likely by the people telling them what to do. He tells them that he's there to protect them, and this time he needs them to help by listening.

They can be a family again. Gary leaves with his kids, but Amy searches the woods solo. Mike asks Erica to trust him, but she refuses to believe that Lily is somewhere only he can go. When it's clear that she won't let up, Mike has no choice but to let her follow along in hopes that he can accomplish his goal with her around.
4. How does Eddie enter Mike, his new vessel?

Answer: Through his mouth

Amy heads through the woods alone on the hunt for Mrs. Booth and she finds her way to the trailer with her gun raised. She nears the shelter and heads inside, but there's no one there, as it seems. After a quick search, she turns around to find a boy watching her, but he won't speak. Mike and Erica head out to the fields and find Lily laying out there, alone. Erica nearly runs to her daughter's aid, but Mike stops her as they watch Eddie, the tooth boy, emerge from the trees.

He tells Erica to wait for when Lily awakens and he heads off to his brother.

As he foresaw in his dreams, Eddie pushes himself inside through Mike's mouth, and when Erica moves closer to both her husband and daughter, they're both unconscious...and alone.
5. In Eddie's other world, Mike finds a room containing children. What do these children lack?

Answer: Skin

Mike finds himself in a dream as he wakes up in a bedroom to the sound of thunder. The television is tuned to static. He makes his way out to the hallway and shouts for his brother, trying the doors along the way, and gets sidetracked entering a classroom filled with children whose faces have been removed by the Skin-Taker.

He returns to the hall to find the Skin-Taker himself, and goes face to face with the creature as it smashes into walls and sets itself ablaze before him. Mike is able to pass through when the creature realizes he won't back down.
6. Which 'Candle Cove' character is the Skin-Taker, according to Eddie?

Answer: Jawbone

Mike continues to find a room containing large swaths of skin hanging from the ceiling; the Skin-Taker, as Mike discovers when he meets Eddie in this room, is actually Jawbone. Eddie says that he doesn't like the Skin-Taker, but when he goes home and Mike will need to stay inside, he'll keep him company. Mike asks to see his daughter, and he's brought back to the hallway to find her alone there. Eddie says that it's Mike's turn to stay though, since Mike killed him. Mike tells Lily that everything is real and he whispers in her ear not to listen to anything Eddie says to her before she crawls out the television and back into reality. Erica is there when she awakens.
7. Mike convinces Eddie to stay in his made-up world by urging him to do which of these things?

Answer: Play a card game

After Lily and Erica leave, Mike asks Eddie to stay with him since they belong together. Eddie refuses though, since Mike cut his life short. Mike promises to stay, but only if they finish their never-ending card game first. Back hen they never finished, he claims, he cheated, always putting a high card on top and prolonging their war. Eddie finally concedes while the Skin-Taker watches on.
Erica and Lily return to Marla's house and Erica calls 911. Before she can get the address off of Marla, she notices that Marla has left the house.
8. Who finds Mrs. Booth and Marla fighting in the woods?

Answer: Amy

Mike asks Eddie what he'll do when he goes back into the real world. Eddie claims that when he goes into the real world in his spirit form he has to hide like a monster, but now he can go out as Mike.
In the woods, Amy continues to look for Mrs. Booth. It's Marla who finds her first, though. Mrs. Booth says that, for years, Eddie went to her for comfort instead of his own mother. She brandishes her hook as Marla tries to pass by, and when it's clear that Marla won't relent, she jabs her several times. Marla's screams cause Amy to find the two of them, and within a matter of moments, Mrs. Booth is shot in the neck. With adrenaline, Marla is able to pick up the hook and drive it into the back of Mrs. Booth's head, ending her once and for all as Amy calls for an ambulance.
Eddie handily wins the card game against Mike and the boy says that it's time for him to leave. Mike says that he should let his negativity go and do some good in the world, but Eddie claims that he has been. They both say goodbye as Eddie leaves his brother in his own world.
9. Amy informs the press that Mrs. Booth killed Jessica.

Answer: True

A few months later, Amy gives final words to the press, assuring them that over the past thirty years, it was Francis Booth who committed the murders in the 1980s and the present day. She states that any claims that children committed the murder against Jessica are unsubstantiated.

As she does this, Gary and his kids move out of Iron Hill for good. Amy, now sheriff, heads to her office and looks over her files. Erica brings Marla home from the hospital after her months of recovery, and while Erica suggests that she come back to New York with her and Lily, Marla says that she will die in Iron Hill because she'd rather be close to her boys.

They don't notice as the TV turns on and Lily watches 'Candle Cove' take the screen.
10. Who inhabits Mike's body in the end?

Answer: None of these

As Lily watches 'Candle Cove', her father walks into the room and shuts it off. She goes back to her drawing until Erica comes and asks her to come outside.

Several months earlier, as Amy called in the other deputies, Marla continued the search for her son, through all of the injury. Erica never knew, but when she called for the cops, Lily told her grandmother what Mike had whispered to her on the other side. That's why, when she found Mike, still unconscious in the field, she closed his mouth, covered his nose, and suffocated him, preventing Eddie from coming back in his body.

In the other world, Eddie finds that he can not cross to the other side. Mike tells Eddie that he'll stay, but they need to stay there together.
