Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Knight Rider," Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) and his talking supercar, KITT (voiced by William Daniels), fought against criminals who operated "above the law." What fictional organization did Michael work for?

Answer: Foundation for Law and Government

FLAG was headed by Devon Miles (Edward Mulhare), with headquarters in Los Angeles. FLAG's black semi-trailer usually carried Bonnie Barstow (Patricia McPherson), KITT's mechanic, for mission briefings and repairs.
2. "The A-Team" was about a team of Vietnam War soldiers who were sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit. They soon broke out and began helping people in the L.A. underground. Which character lived in a mental hospital and had to be broken out for the team's missions?

Answer: H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock

Murdock (Dwight Schultz) was the team's helicopter pilot during the "Bank of Hanoi" incident, but since he was not technically part of the A-Team, he was not tried for the crime. Murdock's real first name was never revealed in the series.
3. In the first episode of "MacGyver," what type of food did Mac (Richard Dean Anderson) use to stop an acid leak in an underground laboratory?

Answer: Chocolate bars

The sugar in the chocolate reacted with the acid to form a temporary patch. Later in the episode, Mac joked that he could make a bomb out of chewing gum. At least, it sounded like a joke...
4. "Spenser: For Hire" starred Robert Urich as Spenser, a sensitive yet tough private investigator in Boston. Spenser's girlfriend, Susan Silverman (Barbara Stock), was replaced by an attorney for season 2. What was the D.A.'s name?

Answer: Rita Fiore

Susan returned in season 3 (she left in season two, stating that she loved Spenser too much to bear being near his dangerous occupation). Carolyn McCormick (who played Rita) is probably best known for playing Dr. Elizabeth Olivet on "Law & Order."
5. In "Magnum: P.I.," Magnum's (Tom Selleck) ex-navy buddies included Theodore Calvin (Roger E. Mosley) and Rick Wright (Larry Manetti). Magnum often used T.C.'s helicopters to travel between the Hawaiian islands. What was the name of T.C.'s tourism company?

Answer: Island Hoppers

Humorous banter usually followed Magnum "borrowing" T.C.'s helicopter, since Magnum never seemed to pay T.C. back for the gas use. Still, Magnum did help T.C. with his work in the community - including a youth basketball club.
6. "Miami Vice" was all about Crockett (Don Johnson) and Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas), hot nights in Florida, and urban criminals. The synthesised theme music was composed by which of the following musicians?

Answer: Jan Hammer

The theme used for Crockett in the series was featured in the video game "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" (2002). Aside from "Miami Vice," Hammer also scored the soundtrack to the "Knight Rider" tv reunion movie, "Knight Rider 2000" (1991).
7. "T.J. Hooker" starred William Shatner as a by-the-books seargeant working with rookie Vince Romano (Adrian Zmed) for the LCPD. What was the call sign of Hooker and Romano's unit?

Answer: 4-Adam-30

Officers Stacy Sheridan (Heather Locklear) and Jim Corrigan (James Darren) were called unit 4-Adam-16. Stacy was the daughter Captain Dennis Sheridan (Richard Herd), and replaced Officer Vicky Taylor (April Clough) after the first season.
8. In the 1988 "Mission: Impossible" series, Peter Graves returned as Jim Phelps, along with a new IMF team. The son of which classic "Mission: Impossible" also starred in the show?

Answer: Greg Morris

Phil Morris played Grant Collier (Barney Collier's son). He was the electronics expert of the team, much like his father was in the 1960's show. Greg Morris had several guest appearances on the new show.
9. "Airwolf" was about an advanced military helicopter which was stolen by test pilot Stringfellow Hawke (Jan-Michael Vincent) for secret government missions (in exchange for the CIA finding Hawke's brother). What was the name of Hawke's co-pilot?

Answer: Dominic Santini

Ernest Borgnine played the role for the first three seasons, until his character was killed off in the first episode of season 4. Santini was a close friend of Hawke's parents, and raised Hawke after he was orphaned at 12 years old.
10. I can't end this quiz without asking a cartoon question! In "The TransFormers," one of the Decepticons always argued with their leader, Megatron (voice of Frank Welker). Which one?

Answer: StarScream

All the others were totally loyal and always followed orders. In the movie, the newly forged Galvatron (voice of Leonard Nimoy) got his revenge on StarScream (voice of Chris Latta) by destroying him. However, in the last season of the show, StarScream's "spark" (life force) allowed him to return as a kind of "ghost."
