The Woolpack meeting place of the local community is featured in the soap opera "Emmerdale". The soap until 1989 was known as "Emmerdale Farm", and mainly featured the Sugden family. Nowadays there are many families who make up the storylines.

Not a lover of comedy, this show used to make me howl with laughter. The show was jointly written by David Walliams, and Matt Lucas. There were four series, which aired from December 2003 until December 2006. They depict different sketches relating to different characters.

James Herbert, horror writer, was responsible for writing this chilling tale of a house with ghostly secrets. The house was once used as an orphanage for refugee children during the second world war. The children's guardians were a brother and sister, who ruled the house with cruelty. A very chilling tale.
