Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first scene opens on Bandit pulling up in a semi truck in front of a steakhouse. What was special about the rig he pulled up in?

Answer: It had a mural painted on the side.

Bandit, who was being introduced to television audiences, had a huge ego. His personal big rig had a huge mural on both sides of the trailer that depicted his sports car jumping over a ravine and the word "Bandit" over the painting.
2. What was the name of the waitress at the steakhouse?

Answer: Becky Winters

Bandit took a beer off of her tray and she refused to let him pay for it. This is of course after charging his good friend $1.75 for his beer. She had been chastising the friend for claiming to live in the Governor's mansion, which it turned out he did. His dad was the top politician in the state.

This was inside of the restaurant that Bandit had pulled up to in the opening scene.
3. When not in his big rig, what was Bandit's ride of choice?

Answer: A Dodge Stealth

While the car wasn't as iconic as the 1970s Pontiac Grand Am used in the theatrical movies, the made for TV version used a Dodge Stealth as the lead car to keep the police off the trail of the truck's tail. The Grand Am was not in production at the time of the TV special being made.
4. Who was Bandit's main love interest in the movie?

Answer: Beth

Bandit hadn't gone back to his hometown in more than 5 years. His return to meet up with Beth was what spurned the action on in the movie. He was trying to stop her from getting married to "Big Sky" Olsen, a professional wrestler.

She was played by Elizabeth Berkley.
5. What was the Bandit's friend and driving partner's CB handle?

Answer: Poor Boy

Early in the movie, he had spotted an airplane that needed help landing. That was the first time he used his CB name.

Bandit climbed aboard the flat bed trailer, lit a couple of flares and managed to guide the plane to a landing on the truck as it was driving.
6. What country music singer did Bandit take on a contract to deliver to the airport?

Answer: Mel Tillis

He had been a passenger on the airplane that Bandit helped in the emergency landing. Bandit agreed to help get them to the airport in time for a 2:30 flight. But first he had to drop off his truck and "see to a personal matter".
7. What kind of business what Bandit's cousin in?

Answer: Making counterfeit cassette tapes

His cousin, JB, still lived in Bandit's hometown. They were obviously good friends, but they also didn't always see eye to eye. JB was very much against telling Bandit about his new business but eventually he was forced to let him in on the secret.
8. What item was Bandit and his crew transporting?

Answer: Bear statue

The Bear was a carved statue that had been missing for more than 50 years. The bear was a symbol of status for whichever town (North Bear River or South Bear River) held it. The two towns had been fighting for more than 100 years.
9. Was Bandit from the North or South side of the river?

Answer: South

Bandit's sister ran off with a guy from North Bear River and caused a near revolt between the townsfolk. People from opposite sides of the river hadn't co-mingled during the entire spat.
10. Did Bandit and his crew recover the stolen cargo?

Answer: Yes

They recovered the bear statue from the North Bear River folks and used it in the Founder's Festival parade. Bandit stopped Beth from marrying her fiance and found his sister and her boyfriend. Together they stopped the feud and allowed them to stay together.
